Own a breadmaker without operator's manual-help!

I recently received a good working used Phillips bread maker Model # HL5231/A. However, it did not come with the original operator's manual. I have no experience with this sort of appliance, so it sits sadly on my kitchen counter, unable to be utilized. I tried to access the Access Library on the Phillips product website, but with no results. I am awaiting an email from their customer support group. Maybe someone on this website at FixYa.com can come to my rescue???

I've even seen people advertising to sell theirs and state that the manual can be found online. So far not true. I called up customer support and the model has since been discontinued along with anything with it on the Phillips website.

I found it at the link below. This web site's comment box doesn't wrap the URL so you'll have to paste it in yourself. You can down load and save the manual as a pdf. http://www.p4c.philips.com.cn/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?slg=ENG&sct=FG_MINIOVENS_SU&cat=KAP_FRYINGANDGRILLING_CA&grp=KITCHEN_APPLIA NCES_GR&session=20090726105122_69.140.2.250&ctn= HL5231&ds=HL5231&mid=Link_UserManuals&hlt=Link_UserManuals

What is the problem? If you just want to know how to make bread it is self explanatory. You can buy the cookbooks for bread makers at B Daltons or Waldenbooks or any of the others. Hope that helps. You just add whatever ingredients called for and push the button and let it go.

How do you replace the fan oven element

Assuming you have bought your element then in most ovens this is a straight forward procedure to remove old and replace by new. Find the make and model number of your oven and google for the manual usually a number of Phillips screws hold it in and two pronged plug provides the power. New element will give you a clue to the type of connector.Hope this helps but without knowing the model it is difficult to be more specific.

What setting do I use to bake a large cake and also bread? The manual isn't very helpful. PDP790

westinghouse oven, cakes are usually 350 degrees where as bread is anywhere from 4-500 degrees depending on which kind of bread because they are different in weight due to yeast if you have any further questions message me back I await your reply and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations in the future. I have an older model double oven by Kenmore - probably 15-18 years old. I was baking bread in foil three days ago and the oven set on bake 325 degrees. (I had been cooking a roast in it for several hours...

Hi.

the oven may have locked in consequence of the self cleaning cycle.

After unplugging, allow the oven cooling down for few hours.

If the is still locked, then the high temperature generated in self cleaning cycle may have damaged temp probe, door latch, or electronic control.

Parts must be tested to discover the fault.

Call Kenmore at the number listed on the owners manual.

Regards.

The Taylor oven thermometer you bought is decent at best. It is most likely the sensor inside the oven. Has your clock displayed any fault codes? F, followed by a number? Changing the sensor will probably correct the problem.
