Does any indicator light in front of the TV when you turn it on?
if the answer is yes, try turning on the TV by using the remote control. press any of the programme numbers 1-9 while pointing the remote at the TV. It is advisable that you install new batteries in the remote before attempting this.
If the answer is no then you should do the following:
- check the wall socket. try plugging another device into this socket to see if there is power present

if all the above fail thentake the TV to the repairman.

No GPS signal

Ok Marilyn,

Thanks for the info. Your device has no dedicated reset button like some other Tom-Tom units, but it still can be reset.

To perform a reset, make sure that the unit has a fully charged battery. Charge for several hours if unsure - and make sure the charging light comes on (if it doesn't - it will probably need service) while connected.

Disconnect from charger.

Press the On/Off button to turn the unit on (if not already on) and allow it to start up as usual.

Press AND hold the On/Off button for up to 15 seconds or until the unit turns off.

The GPS should now be reset, and should work as expected when you next turn it on. Good luck!

Turn power on and nothing but a black screen dell 1545, any ideas. Is there a reset button?

If it turns on and makes all the normal sounds, hold the screen up to a light and move it around. If you see a very dim picture then your inverter has failed. This can be fixed.
You can also plug an external monitor into the laptop to make sure that your graphics chip hasn't let go.

The picture will go black and the sound will go out. At the same time, the green power inicator will flash. Then the picture and sound will come back on for several seconds and then it will go out again....

My TV had the same problem. I called Sony yesterday and they told me to reset the TV. I did so yesterday, and it seemed to work. Here is the transcript with instructions:
Please turn ON the TV. While holding down the RESET button on the Remote control, press the POWER button on the TV. The TV will turn itself OFF, then back ON again. Release the RESET button. The TV will go thru the initial setup, and should work normal.

Hit the menu button on the remote. Click on Setup. Then click on Set The Quick Start Options. Make sure it is on. That should solve your problem.
