Jeep liberty head gasket

My jeep liberty got warm then started missing. parked it changed spark plugs,o2 sensor and thermastat. thats what the parts house said to do. it ran perfect for a day 1/2. it then smoked and started missing again but didnt overheat. low coolant though. i figure head gasket. im not sure if the head warped or cracked. the nearest machine shop is over an hour away. i only drove it less then 20 miles missing like that. do u think my heads cracked or warped or just a head gasket. its only got warm for amin, thats aii,not hot.

You are not going to know for sure until you take it apart. If you are lucky it will just be the head gasket.

CODES P0300, P1128

po300 is random miss fire doubtful two O2 sensors bad at one time most likely coolant temp sensor is bad causing engine to run rich this will cause O2 sensors to throw a code(thats what they are there for..exhaust gas temp. and raw fuel) running rich will also fowl spark plugs(=miss fire) P1128 ??

Changed O2 sensors and white smoke starts pouring out of exhaust

White smoke is usually steam which would indicate a blown head gasket or crack in block. Hope it's something easier.

I have a 2006 Freestar with a 3.9 Engine . When it is cold it has a miss when i step on it. But it gets better when it starts to warm up. Almost seems like a spark plug miss

Spark Plugs ---change at 70,000 miles
O2 Sensors--change at 100,000 miles (front 2 only)
Gas Filter--every 3 years/30,000 miles
Air Filter ---every 3 years/blow off once every year
MAF Sensor---Clean once a year or more often

Ignition Coils--- most definitely will go bad,at
least 1 a year. (Any Check Lights or Codes ? )

When cold, it isn't in closed-loop, and runs on
Long Term Fuel Trim--not on O2 Sensors ,until
warm

Let it warm up at least 4 minutes in cold weather,
go light on the gas for first 2 miles

2002 liberty 3.7 liter. I have replaced the coil, plugs and injector for cylinder #6. On cold starts I get a ramdom misfire code and engine is missing. If I re-start 3-4 times engine starts up and runs...

If you have Coil- on -Plug you haven't found the bad one yet

Your not always going to get a code that is correct
e.g.PO304,PO305 etc

I would buy the injector from you, as I'm sure that wasn't it,
unless you have an air leak around it

You want no vacuum leaks,a near new EGR Valve,no
air induction tubing leaks

Clean the MAF Sensor with CRC MAF Cleaner

Clean Throttle Plate--CRC Throttle Body Cleaner

You did put anti-sieze on those spark plugs, if not
do so.

How old are the O2 Sensors
More than 80,000 mile, replace the front 2 with OEM
Specific Make--Bosch or NGK etc and not some
cut & splice universal type

1997 cadillac deville- misfires on cylinder #1 when cold and starting up, and also when hot and left off for a few minutes, and then restarted. Runs rough for 15 seconds or so, and then the problem goes...

It sure is. If a plug is truly wet, the energy for the spark will travel through the moisture, rather than across the gap. The fuel air mixture flowing into and out of the cylinder serves to ventilate the cylinder, drying the plug.

Plus, that air is preheated, so that would accelerate the drying once warming up got underway.

You really need to have that head gasket replaced. If this questionable repair gives way (and it almost certainly will), you can get enough water in the cylinder to start breaking things on startup without any warning.

2002 jeep liberty code p171

looked up your code and it says that your bank 1 sensor 1, means you have more than 1 sensor, this one is for your fuel, says your mixture is lean, might need a tune up..or the sensor is bad..hope this helps....shia
