Re: vaio ar520

Karplandius, Your laptop was made for VISTA. There are no drivers on the Sony website. What I would do is contact Sony and see if any VISTA drivers will work with your laptop.

You can contact them here:

Please let me know how you make out!!

Sony vaio vgc-v2s

It appears to me that your computer was bought in Europe. Please follow the link below and choose your country, once there, look under software and drivers and download all the drivers for your specific type of computer.

However you first need to install an operating system in yor computer. (Windows Vista, XP, Linux, etc)

Windows vista sound not coming-sony vaio

First thing to do is check if your soundcard driver is behaving.

Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager

and check if the soundcard driver is flagged with a yellow exclamation. If this is the case, head off to the Sony site and try to download a new copy of your sound drivers to install.

If this doesn't work, post back here to see what to try next.

Vista back to XP

Sorry to say it but not a lot. Sony might or might not have xp drivers on there web site. you are most likely stuck with vista. you could try to look up the drivers individually from each device manufacture but that might not work for all of them plus its a pain in the neck. i don't see why everyone dislikes vista so much. while its not my most favorite OS ever it is better than people give it credit for. i say just live with vista for a while before you decide to through it out. and if you do through it out why note through on a Linux distro.
