Question about Storage Controllers
I am about to order a system with two of these drives installed. I want to run up Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3.0 x86_64bit O/S. I cannot find out if there is a driver for this operating system. Any help?
Disk drives themselves do not require drivers. The storage controller (sata chipset) is what you should be looking at to determine compatibility. Do you know the manufacturer and model? (even just knowing the manufacturer/model of the motherboard would help if the SATA ports are on the motherboard).
