When you installed the drivers, did you do so after loggin in as ADMINISTRATOR?? This is vital otherwise it will not work. Also a quote from the manual goes like this quote -"Exit the “Found New Hardware Wizard” by hitting the cancel button. Unplug the VGA webcam from the USB. Insert the software CD into the drive tray. Follow the software installation instructions. Once all software is installed (direct X, HP Web Cam drivers, ArcSoft VideoImpression, ArcSoft Photo Impression), close the HP Webcam window and RESTART the PC. After restarting the PC, plug in the VGA Webcam and run ArcSoft Video Impression to capture a new video." unquote. Hope this helps..................sodeep
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4412883 This is the Vista version. I think the XP version is on the disc that came with the camera. In any case, install the software driver with the hardware camera not connected. When you connect, it shows image.
If the cam is from china is probable that you don't find it.
But you can use another driver camera
put the cd in the computer but don't run it.
connect you cam usb cable.
wait for the auto dedection.
follow the steps (chose auto install)
chose continue for security message.
if all the setups is good, it's ok ;)
try it by msn
it sounds as if the driver is corrupt or is conflicting with another driver.
The best thing to do would be to uninstall the driver for the cam, i assume that will be listed in the add/remove programmes and disconnect the web cam, restart the pc and dissable firewall and anti virus programmes and re install the driver cd rom, whether you use the software that is with it is upto you.
Re connect the web cam when prompted but use a different usb port if you have a spare one and try again.
