Question about Cameras
Digital camera pictures come out white and distorted - thick white lines/streaks are seen when the picture is viewed back on the camera - even though when the picture is taken, everything looks normal. My settings are ok.and to be sure, are set to the 'intelligent-auto' mode. The fault occurs
under different light conditions, indoor, outdoor and with or without the flash.
this fault still occurrs regardless of how the white balance set - i know a little about techy stuff and this is not a 'have you swiched on or enabled the....' type fault
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

It appears this problem is due a failing CCD device in many brand cameras. All the manufactures use the same source(s). I have not persued Casio as yet, but other companies are offering a recall to replace the CCD for free. I plan to use this approach with Casio. Search the web for "failing CCD in digital camera", it describes exactly what we are observing.

Try this to isolate the problem.
Switch on the camera in auto and put it into full optical zoom. Now turn the camera to face you and angle it so that you can see into the lens without reflection. On full zoom the internal lens will be right up to the outer lens. Now press the button to take a picture. You should be able to see the shutter cover the inside lens and then open again. Did it completely cover the lens? It should do. If not then you will get an over exposed picture or a picture with lines across it.

You have the camera in Highlights mode.. while in playback use the up,down, right, left pad press it up and it will go through different displays like what settings you had the camera in when you took the picture then there is a graph screen... after that one is the highlights display which is what you have it on. Push up one more time to have it on regular playback mode. The manual explains this much better than I just did. If you have the manual you should check it out if my instructions dont help.
