I don't think that is true. I believe there is image adjustments that can be made. I would like some help. I don't want to do this without some input as I haven't done it before. I can forward the SM if you'd like.

Hi jdub

this is not an issue with the allignment but an issue with the feeding roller.
the paper tray where the paper is being fed has rubber covered rollers, this is dirty, dusted or damaged.
See what part of the printer you can remove to expose the rollers and have it cleaned with a qtip and ethyl alcohol.

for more tips on cleaning you printer.

pretty much the same components and the same mechanism.

just be careful not to damage anything in the process.

The only adjustment is the paper size guide adjustment, be sure it is firmly set against the side of the stack of paper,it is possible one of the rollers is hanging up purchase and use a non conductive spray lubricant to lube the rollers be sure not to use too much and be sure to dry of any excess with a lint free cloth.

I have a 18 mo old 8500 OJPro wireless that won't advance the paper, makes a clicking sound and gives a false paper jam error. I have seen a split white gear within a black clutch assembly on the left end...

Follow these steps in the order presented to resolve the paper jam. Step one: Remove any loose paper Remove any loose sheets of paper from the input tray and the output tray. CAUTION: Do not remove jammed paper at this stage. Trying to clear jammed paper from the front of the product can damage the print mechanism. Remove any loose paper Do not pull jammed paper c02073375.gif c01994705.gif Step two: Clear the jam from the rear of the product CAUTION: Never pull jammed paper from the front of the product. If you can pull it from the rear of the product or the tray, always try the rear first. Pulling paper from inside the front cover can cause mechanical damage to the product.
  1. Press the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn off the product.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

If any torn pieces of paper remain inside the product, more jams are likely to occur. Figure 4: Remove scraps of paperc02073377.gif

Our machine shows E051. so what can i do.

The JAM DUPLEX message appears if you remove a sheet of paper from the face down output tray after only one side has printed.
The paper sizes you can use with the duplex printing function are A4, Letter or Legal.

If the paper adjustment lever for duplex printing is not set correctly for the paper size, paper jams may occur and the printing will be out of position on the page.

Open the back output tray.
Use both hands to slowly pull the jammed paper out of the fuser unit.

Close the back output tray.
If the paper jam cannot be cleared, go to the next step.
Pull the duplex tray and paper tray out of the printer.
Pull the jammed paper out of the printer
Put the duplex tray and paper tray back in the printer.

Do pixma Mp610 support duplex printing

The MP610 does support duplex printing.

Duplex Printing
duplex.gif
The duplex printing function allows you to print data on both sides of a sheet of paper.
The procedure for performing duplex printing is as follows:
Performing automatic duplex printing
You can perform the duplex printing without having to turn over the paper.
1. Open the printer driver setup window, check the Duplex Printing check box, and confirm that Automatic is checked.
duplex1.gif
2. Select Normal-size Printing (or Fit-to-Page Printing, Scaled Printing or Page Layout Printing) from the Page Layout list.
3. When printing a document that has small margins, click Print Area Setup... and set the print area.
When you perform duplex printing, the print area of the document becomes slightly narrower than usual and the document may not fit on one page.
duplex2.gif
sub.gifTo print without reducing the page:
Select Use normal-size printing.
sub.gifTo reduce the page slightly during printing:
Select Use reduced printing.
4. Specify Staple Side.
The printer analyzes the Orientation and Page Layout settings, and automatically selects the best staple position. Check the Staple Side setting. If you want to change the setting, select another value from the list.
5. If necessary, click Specify Margin... and set the Margin width.
6. Click OK.
Duplex printing will be started.

Performing duplex printing manually
You can perform the duplex printing manually.
1. Check the Duplex Printing check box and uncheck the Automatic check box on the Page Setup tab.

Alignment page is printing crooked

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

G85 series prints crooked

From HP's site:

Problem: The print on the paper is skewed.

Solutions: 1. Slide the paper-width adjuster against the left side of the paper stack, and 2. make sure that the rear access door in the back is fully “locked”.

Make sure the paper aligning slides are tight to the sides of the paper. In the case that they are spring loaded make sure there is not something preventing them from holding the paper properly aligned.
The print head could be 'off-track'...
If the text is properly aligned on the edge of the page, but appears crooked it is related to the print head assembly. If the text is not aligning to the edge of the page then the paper is not feeding straight and the paper aligning slides are at fault.
It is also possible that one of the paper feed rollers are not grasping the paper and it is forcing it to one side as it pulls it in.

Paper jams only while duplexing

Back door broken, diverter gate broken?
I would look for something like this. did the tech clean the duplexers tires??

I would also try a different duplexer if possible-paper path sensor may be dirty or obstructed

2nd side crooked

I would have to say that there must be a same piece of paper touching the paper as it is being feed through the duplex ass'y. The best thing to do is to see if the copy gets tilted toward the front or rear of the copy/ copier. You will be able to find where the obstruction is in the dupex path.
