Phaser 7300 - one color fading on diagnostics page

When printing the diagnostics pages, every color looks good except the cyan and it fades from dark blue to light (white).

I have changed the IM, toner, fuser and I cleaned the top LED.

What else can I can or check for???

Thanks very much!

Are you using third party toner? That is one thing that causes that problem. Use only xerox toner.
The other thing is that your image unit could have come defected, if it was brand new. Try changing the image unit and that should fix that problem. Good luck. 016-1993-00 image unit & toner 016-1977-00

Why is my printer printing faded colours

Hi Kath,
I expect you have it sorted by now.
I think you might have had one off the developer tanks stuck or broken. If the developer roller does not turn then the colour quickly fades along the page. If you tried to do a test page and that was good then there was nothing wrong with that side of things.
Good luck.

Xerox 8500 phaser prints brown tint

Most likely the cyan ink is burnt. If the ink sticks are left unused (printing more black than color, this will happen.

Print the test pages for PQ troubleshooting from the control panel and examine each print. Cyan will probably have very dark streaks down the page, magenta should look normal, and yellow also will have dark stripes. You need to replace this burnt ink, and the only way is to print. From within paint (or similar accessory in other OS) Create a full page of cyan, and print about 100 - 200 pages, or until the cyan starts to clear up. Yes it is a waste, but much cheaper than a print head, Do this for yellow as well.

My phaser 740 has print that flakes off when you print pictures with real dark areas. I assume it needs more fuser heat or less paper speed. The problem is I can' t figure out how to adjust either of these...

Recalibrate the colors. Flaking is sometimes caused by more ink/toner than can be fused to the media. There's a limit for the total amount of ink/toner. Yours may be set too high.
You'll need a copy of the Printer's User's Guide (also Downloadable from Xerox.com)

Controlling Color Density

When colors look faded, adjust the toner color density to extend the life of the components.

Print and use the Color Reference Page 1 In the printer's front panel, scroll to Calibrate Colors,

press Menu and print the Color Reference Page. 2 Compare the Color Reference Page to the Color Density

Samples on page 39. Make a note of the value (-10 to +10) for each color that most closely matches the samples.

3 Adjust the density for each color: Enter the value noted in Step 2 in the Calibrate Colors menu, under Adjust Each Color.

? Decrease color density: Press . ? Increase color density: Press --->.

4 Reprint the Color Reference Page; check your adjustments

I have a Xerox Phaser 8400 with image problems. After power up it prints a Startup Page - That page is black text which faded and slightly distorted in some areas and in areas that are in Color only...

What you are describing is a bad print head. You can try running the eliminate light stripes several times, and jet substitution, but most likely the print head will have to be replaced to remedy your problem.
You can try googling. Phaser printer print heads or phaser printheads.
There seems to be a secondary market appearing for those print heads. I can tell you from Xerox, if you have no maintenance agreement, they cost $750 per print head.
Honestly, having worked on about every type of color printer known to man, the new solid ink phaser printers, produce a dry ink image of 2400 x 2400 dpi with ink particles that align end to end. The resolution of those printers are remarkable and can be purchased for less than the price of one of those new print heads.
Now for reliable, albeit somewhat not as sharp a color image, but still exceptional, you really can not beat an HP.
The ink stick technology really no longer has the color vividness advantage it initially had. The inks that align end to end, have ended that advantage and are sure a lot cheaper to operate per page.

Light or Faded Areas in Solid Color Prints

If the issue is occuring in the same place on all prints, try the imaging drum (can't remember if this printer even uses one) or the transfer belt/roller (not sure which it uses). If you phone Dell support, they should run you through troubleshooting and send you either of those parts free of charge if you are under warranty. If not, buy them anyways; they don't degrade over time (if kept in the dark) and can be saved for when the currently installed one runs out if you don't need it to fix this issue.

Xerox Phaser 6250 started printing bad

That really sounds like the imaging unit cleaner has an issue.
If you have one try the imaging unit, I really suspect that is your problem.
Black is Faded or Missing Step 1 Clean the Laser Windows and Remove Excess Toner From the Imaging Unit Step 2 Check or Replace the Imaging Unit Gear Retaining Pin Step 3 Replace the Imaging Unit (installation instructions) ic-film.gif
See if this link works. Xerox is infameous for these not working.

Tektronix phaser 7300 uneven inking

sounds like a bad cyan developer housing. Or that somehow the housing has come out of its mounting, but I cant think how that would happen. There are some rails in the machine that may have also come loose.
You have to remove the IBT ( transfer) assembly to look into that.
