It isn't easy. I did it with a pair of tweezers and one of the little gripper tools that come in PC repair kits. You may need to remove portions of the frame to get your hand in there.

Hi the right hand hinge of the door has popped out whilst I was trying to move the oven using the door handle as leverage. The door is now wonky when closed as the hinged has popped out. Help!

All oven door typically lift off the hinges by design. If you open the door to what is referred as the broil position. You know when the door stops about 4 to 6 inches open at the top. Then do the following.

1. Lift the door up completely off the opposite hinge still in place and remove. Set the door aside carefully as if has glass window, you do not want to break.

2. Then set both hinges at the broiler stop position. If one is all the way in to door fully closed position pull it out with your hand or with pliers till it stops @ broiler position. If all the way down as if door was fully open, lift hinge until it stops at broiler position. CAUTION- THE HINGES ARE SPRING LOADED AND CAN SNAP BACK INTO FULLY CLOSED POSITION. You can use a heavy glove or if you have an oven mitten, that can work to protect your fingers. DO NOT GET YOUR FINGERS BETWEEN HINGE AND OVEN OR CAN PINCH FINGERS.

3. Now carefully lift the door over the hinges set at the broiler position. Careful not to bump them when doing so or can snap closed. If does, reset hinge to broiler position and repeat. Works best to hold door at angle that door is when in broiler position. Once you have them started evenly, you should be able to fully slide down back onto both hinges.

4. If one of the hinges no longer has spring tension you have to reattach the spring. You can usually access spring if needed by removing the bottom drawer.

How to replace drive belt on john deere model 345

- remove deck
- remove seat and rear fenders
- pry off deck adjusting knob
- remove F/R pedals
- remove floor plate
- use jackstands to prop up entire right side of tractor
- remove (2) screws holding fuel lines on side of frame
- lift out gas tank, set alongside left side of tractor
- remove plastic fan from hydrostat
- disconnect the electrical connector for the electric clutch
- from the top-side - use a 3/8" drive rachet - stick it into the tensioner slot next to the idler, rotate it to take tension off the belt, and remove belt off hydrostat pulley
- from underside - remove front idler (next to electric clutch)
- from underside - remove the "right-most" idler off the spring tensioner
- from underside - remove the "left-most" idler off the spring tensioner
- now the tensioner can rotate fully to take almost all the tension off the extension spring
- pop the spring off the tensioner arm
- the belt should now be able to be removed from the machine

- reinstall in the opposite fashion
- note: to reattach the spring, connect a nylon cord to the spring, and pull it rearward and guide it onto the tensioner arm - you need to stretch it about 1"
- for reattaching the two idler pulleys to the tensioner, get someone to hold the ratchet so the tensioner is positioned for the belt being in it's most-loose position. You may need to wrap the new belt around the hydrostat pulley first, and assemble the last idler pulley and belt at the same time to complete the procedure.

Fuel filler door my Jaguar X (2002) will not unlock

Most cars have an emergency fuel filler door release somwhere in the trunk. Look for some kind of pull cord close to the area of the outside fill door.

Door does not stay horizontal when opened. How do I adjust the door springs?

Hello Slosh,
The are four torx screws (Two on each side) of the door panel near the bottom. The top screw controls tension and the bottom allows you to position the door. Be careful when loosening the panel as the screws will come out completely and then you will need to remove the outer door panel and reattach the door springs

Popping sound

Make sure the shocks are reattached at both ends; also if it has coil springs vs torsion bars, they may be twisting upon spring movement. if not sure, you can squirt some oil on the bottom of the coil springs to test. if the popping stops then the springs may need repositioning (twisting to the proper spots) or get an after market pad to place underneath the spring where it contacts the lower "a"frame. good luck

Pop up flash will not stay open when you push the release button.

The post that holds the spring commonly breaks off. The top has to be removed to replace it - a $60 repair by an independent repair shop. I wouldn't recommend removing the top yourself unless you know how to discharge the 300Volt capacitor.

I have kitchenAid KUDM24SEWH5. The door opens with no resistance. I assume the door spring came loose or broke. How do I check this out?

If you remove the toe kick panel and look at either side of the machine you will see a lower frame rail near the floor. If you look at the upper and lower edges of the toe kick you should see 2 or 4 screws which are typically used to hold it on. Under the panel on either side there is a spring clipped to the frame rail about 4 to 6 inches from the front. This is the door spring. It attaches on an arm the is at a 90 degree angle from the front door panel. There is one on each side.

Alternately you may pull the dishwasher out from the cabinet to reattach the spring if it is loose. If you open the dishwasher door and look upwards under your counter top near the top of the dishwasher you should see two screws which fasten the dishwasher to the cabinet. Some models have side screws but most just have the top. With the screws out you should be able to bull the dishwasher straight out from under the cabinet. Do not use the door to pull as you could pop it off of the hinges. You will only have to pull it out 6 inches or so to see the springs and mounting positions.

Dropped unit and out popped a spring looking piece.  I cannot tell how it reattaches.  the player still works but the lid won't stay open when changing disks.

It's just the spring that pushes your lid back up, it's on the far corner of the lid where the lower part attaches to the top part, you need to get it in place there again...
