How do i access my Sony vaio webcam

Sony's Vaio laptop computer line includes the company's Motion Eye webcam and ArcSoft WebCam Companion software for Vista and Windows 7 operating systems. Located in the LCD screen's upper bezel, the webcam is positioned at face-level when seated at the computer and automatically tracks movement to keep subjects within the lens's field of view.

1.Click on the "Start" menu at the bottom left corner of your screen, choose "All Programs" at the bottom of the menu just above the search box.
2.Scroll through the program list until "ArcSoft WebCam Companion" is located. Alternatively, you may type "WebCam Companion" in the search box to locate the program.
3.Click on the WebCam Companion icon to open the program. The program window will open, offering choices of Capture, Record, Monitor and Edit. Capture is used to take still pictures individually or in a series, Record is used to record videos, Monitor records videos when motion is detected and Edit allows editing of previously recorded videos.
4.Choose the webcam function you wish to use by clicking the icon. The appropriate screen will open, activating the webcam and displaying the camera view on-screen. The on-screen view will display what is within the field of the webcam lens, allowing you to adjust the LCD screen or your position before beginning webcam functions.
5.Click the webcam function according to the mode you have chosen. Functions in Capture mode include Capture or Burst, Record in the Record mode, Monitor in the Monitor mode and Snap Shot or Edit Video in Edit mode. When you have completed your webcam activity, the program automatically saves your video or snap shot within the program to be accessed, viewed or edited at a later time.

I hope you find it very helpful. Thank you for using fixya.com

I have windows xp. the problem i am encountering is that my pc detects the Firewire audion interface intermittenly. when i unplug the firewire cable and reconnect it again it seems ok, but disconnect...

Sounds like the Sound Card is faulty if it can't be detected all the time. I would say to return that sound card and get another one of the same make and model. If it does the same thing then you know that sound card is not compatible with your moterboard, at that point I would try looking for updates for that sound card to see if there are any fixes for it.

If the new one is recognized and works fine then you know the original one is faulty. Also try that sound card on another computer to verify if its a motherboard issue. It might work fine on another computer.

Crazy!

Please update your question. In the time of when it was last on your computer and now that you've reinstalled it have you added a video card and/or updated the drivers. First off have your tried reinstalling it again? One thing you can do is try to find an update for your display adapter. Wether it be a video card or intergrated graphics. If you are able to, collect your computer video settings by going to your run program and type in dxdiag and hit run. Once the program opens up on the bottom save the information and if you possibly can, attach it to a e-mail and send it to me at lucksboy6_9@hotmail.com. I will look it over and see if it could be a directx problem or a video driver problem.

My computers do not recognize sony dcr-hc28 camcorder

Hi, I'm from the Philippines. I have the same handycam model. The first time I connected it to my PC (Windows XP) via firewire, nothing happened. It cannot detect my handycam. I returned the firewire card to the shop where I bought it. They tested it and the firewire card is ok but the firewire cable is defective so they replaced it. When I got home, I tested it again but still the handycam cannot be detected by my PC. I went online to find a solution and I came upon a solution that you need to attach/connect your charger to the handycam before you connect your handycam to your PC. It said that the handycam needs a steady supply of power to be able to connect to the PC. It sounded weird but I tried it and BINGO! The handycam got detected. I was able to capture my videos.

I also have a TV Tuner & Capture Card but when I capture videos thru the RF cables, the videos losses quality and videos are blurred. Thats the reason I bought a firewire card.
