Sansui dvd player wont play and dvd's... shows up as incorrect disc c104 error

I have a sansui dvd/ vcr combination player, it worked fine at first but now reads the disk and shows "incorrect disc c104 error".  What is this and what can I do to fix this problem?

Re: sansui dvd player wont play and dvd's... shows up as...

The fact that a certain format did work once indicates it most likely is the infamous "reset" problem we are experiencing with our Sansui--the same model that you have. This appears to be memory"reset" issue since firmware instructions work fine with formats allowed, per instruction manual. Especially, if your dvd player fails to read upon disk insertion. There were some appended instructions with my unit--stating a 45 second delay required for reading the disc if I recall correctly--something to that effect. However, this will not usually correct the power "reset" issue. It has been suggested elsewhere to unplug the dvd player for 30 minutes, then try again. This momentarily corrects at least some of the problem. I would think that 5 or 10 minutes unplugged would be plenty of time for bleeding off corrupted (or overloaded?) memory issues. It's interesting that our other unit--the same model purchased at the same time--never had this problem. Still looking for answers myself... Good luck!

Try cleaning the optics with one of those DVD cleaners.
When that probably doesn't work, you can hand clean the optics if you can figure out how to get at them. (easy on some, hard on others) If that doesn't work, it is prbably not worth going any farther

How can I show my DVD-R(Memorex) on my televison?

I assume you mean that your current DVD player won't play this DVD?
There are 3 reasons that it won't play. One that the disc is faulty and therefore won't play on any machine. Two that the disc has a scratch or has marks on it. You can look at ways to clean the disc on-line!
3 That it was not finalised on the machine that it was recorded on. If you current player is a + machine it won't play the disc if it is unfinalised. You will need to use the old machine to finalise the disc or another "-" disc recorder to do it - if it will accept the disc! Otherwise if the old DVD recorder is no longer with you, then your only hope to save the disc is to find another model of your old recorder to do it on. If it was a common model someone might let you finalise the disc!

Zenith dvd/vcr model ABV341 DVD WON'T STAY IN TO PLAY...VCR WORKD FINE

If the door does not close either something ( a coin or anything) got inside or there is a issue with the mechanism= alignment or possible bad part in that mechanism that loads and positions the disc.

A suggestion when door opens try to take a quick look inside with a flashlight to see what you can.

Ref. Toshiba VCR, model RDXV59DTKB2 I copy ,using the dubbing function, of VHS to DVD. The disc then works in this and most other VCR's but will not playback in my PC nor my portable DVD player....

Check if your DVD drive in your computor is the same type as your recorder. IE A DVD + or DVD -.
Some types of drive will not play the others. You might need to upgade your drive in your computer to one that will play nearly all formats.

Have a Sansui VCR/DVD player but no remote, will any remote work?

If you google the model number of the vcr and the word remote, you might be able to find a replacement remote for the model. However I should warn you some remotes are more expensive than the VCR, as the makers know how easy it is to lose or break them. If this is the case you can get a universal remote. But these are generally never as good as the makers model, as you can't always get all the functions to work.

Tv/digital converter box & vcr-dvd hook-up

I have a vhs and dvd player all in one
I have a converter box hooked up to my tv and vcr , dvd player combined
I can play my movies on the tv. ok.
you have to have your tv and vcr set on channel 3. if that is what your main tv is set up with. Or 4 if you have your tv set up with that.
Mine plays ok. My settings are for channel 3
My suggestion would be to check your hook ups. maybe they are not hooked up correctly
I had to go to and did searches to help with hook up.
I can also record station I am watching with vcr on vsh tapes. I do not have a dvd recorder.
I found out that you have to have 2 converter boxes hooked to one tv., in order to record on on station while watching another. I have not tried that, as I don't have 2 converter boxes for one tv. I found that by doing google search also. Good Luck

Sharp VCR fault

The video head probably needs cleaning. Remove the top cover, and using a lint free cloth (like maybe a dishtowel) moistened by a bit of rubbing alcohol, or a specific for head cleaning product, clean the rotating head carefully. This head is about 1.75 inch diameter and sits toward the back of the VCR mechanism. It is motor driven and will rotate at a carefully regulated speed when a tape is inserted.

Note: Most late VCRs state they have an automatic head clean feature, but it doesn't always get everything, especially if you have a tape that is loosing oxide badly.

Dvd into vhs input

If you can watch TV normally then it should be a button on your VCR remote. It could be "Input", "Line" or "Aux". Tvs with more than one input line will may require 2 presses on that button, one for each line. This is the best answer that I can give not seeing your remote. Any questions?
