Question about Garden
I have an old sears snowthrower. It's model 536.918800. It was given to me by my brother in law who says it worked before I got it home. I can't get it started. I pull and pull but nothing. I checked the spark it's there but the engine just won't turn over. Any advice is appreciated. I'm pretty handy so if I need to take aparrt, etc. I can do that with the right instructions.
First try removing the float bowl a lot of times water gets in to the carb and won't allow the machine to start, while you are at it you might as well drain the old gas out of the tank be sure if there is a gas valve or petcock it is allowing the fuel to flow to the carb and the gas flows out through the nedle and seat, when you remove the carb's float bowl gas should leak out fairly quickly confirming proper gas flow. Also be sure the choke is operating properly, the only other thing it may be is perhaps a clogged float chamber vent clean the carb with gum out and reassemble. All these things I have described if done properly should bring the old beast back to life.
