Question about JVC GR-DVM70 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

My DVM70 will not play back the tapes. I can record and the screen looks like it is recording just fine, everything looks normal. When I go to play the tapes back on the camcorder the lcd screen is blue and no picture appears. I have tried just using the viewfinder and the same thing happens. It sounds like the tape is moving inside. It rewinds, fast forwards and everything else but just no picture.

ES MUY POSIBLE QUE EL CABEZA L DE VIDEO SE ENCUENTRE
SUCIO LO IDEAL ES USAR UNA CINTA LIMPIACABEZALES O USAR UN SPRAY DE LIMPIEZA DE USO ELECTRONICO (DE LOS QUE NO DEJAN RESIDUOS OLEOSOS) ,APLICANDO PEQUEñOS CHORROS SOBRE LAS GAPS DEL CABEZAL ROTATORIO , ESPERAR ALGUNOS MINUTOS Y CARGAR EN LO POSIBLE OTRA
CINTA EN PLAYBACK ,TAMBIEN SE PODRIAN LIMPIAR LOS CABEZALES AVANZANDO Y RETROCEDIENDO RAPIDO UNA CINTA

Has the video got some kind of switch for switching between different audio sources? You might have to look on the menu to switch it back to normal.

Cant playback tape

Videos recorded on one camcorder very seldom play back in another, due to the internal codes put on the tape by the original machine.

try cleaning the record head, Most people only clean the play back heads on tape players, the record head is just off to one side of the main playback heads , you can use a Qtip and rubbing alcohol to do the cleaning

Recording Speed

the tascam 414 is a 4 track recording studio which uses standard cassette tapes- meaning they only play in one direction, because the tape is full. The 414 records at double speed so that recording fidelity is increased. When you have made a recording you want to mix you then dub your recording though the outputs into another standard tape recorder or whatever you have available, be it a cd recorder or your PC. So, when you listened to your recording on a standard tape player, you were not only hearing it at half speed but you were only listening to 2 of the 4 tracks. The other tracks would only be heard if you flipped the tape over, and they would be heard running backward. I would have though the 414 had a swich to allow it to also record at standard speed to but I guest it does not.

Cannot play tape.

Sometimes that happens to me too. What I do is just push play, then fast forward, and normally if you watch it, the picture starts to come back. Just keep fast forwarding until you can see all of the picture, and you should be fine.

Poor EP playback

hi sir
the speed in EP is differ from sp ,EP it is much slow then all quality would be less cause you are using less magnetic particles on the tape so here are many reasons for bad recording
first may be you have to clean video heads
or ,you have to clean the path of the tape in the recorder there are some metal guides that turnes with the tape to get it rounds the heads they may be dirty
or clean the capstain pinch roller and its metal roller that makes it run ( the capstain roller )
or you should have new heasd drum sir
regards
