My dell(my brothers who passed away some few months) needs a bios password----sysytem or adminstrators passwod before booting the model is Dell Vostro A860 servive TAG number BFY2WG1. the machine will...

I am very sad to hear about your brother. My condolences. In order to remove the bios password, you need to remove the CMOS battery from the laptop. To do this, you must:
Remove the power supply and the battery from the computer
Open the laptop up
Look for the CMOS battery. It is a small silver battery in the shape of a disc; similar in size to the face of a watch.
Remove this battery, and hold the power button for ten (10) seconds to drain any residual charge inside the computer.
With the battery removed, boot up the computer; it should say "password disabled"
Reinstall the battery. Your computer should now be restored to full functionality. Please don't forget to rate this solution.

I lost my power-on password. What can I do?

remove the laptop battery, then remove the entire case of the laptop to reveal the battery on the motherboard. There is a 50-50 chance that it is removable. If so, just pop out the motherboard battery (looks like a watch battery) and wait a few minutes, and re-install and re-assemble your laptop.

Should remove any password that comes on before your computer boots.

If the password you are referring to is your windows password, then locate a pc-tech to reset it for you.

I can't remember my bios password how do i remove it?

If you have forgot BIOS password then you have to reset CMOS jumper setting. Please follow the below steps: Open the Laptop back panel. Locate the CMOS battery, remove it & then with the help of a screw driver keep on pressing the terminal inside it and turn ON the computer for 10 secs and Turn Off (make sure you keep on pressing the terminal with a screwdriver while turning ON). It will short the BIOS setting. Now, fix the CMOS battery & restart the computer. This will take care of the issue.

Thanks and regards,

I have I laptop dell inspiron 1525MY problem is when I turn on they say is protected by A password authentication system.... how I remove the password help me

How to Bypass or Remove a BIOS Password by Removing the CMOS Battery:
The simplest way to remove a BIOS password is to simply remove the CMOS battery. A computer will remember its settings and keep the time even when it is turned off and unplugged because these parts are powered by small battery inside the computer called a CMOS battery. If we pull out this battery, the computer will forget alot of its hardware settings, including its BIOS password. This should not be performed on Laptops if you are not experienced working with laptop hardware.
remove-battery.thumbnail.jpgAnyway, open up the computer case using a screw driver and locate the flat, circular and metallic CMOS battery. It should look something like the picture to the right. Some computers have this part standing upright.
Once you have located it, observe how the latches are holding it. There are many different ways to remove a CMOS battery but the most common way on newer computers can be seen in the picture below.
remove-bios-battery.thumbnail.jpg Make sure to power down the computer, unplug the power cables and unplug any USB devices if they are powered. The computer must not be able to get power from anywhere for this to work. Take out the CMOS battery and wait 10 – 25 minutes before putting it back in. The reason for this wait is because the computer can still store power in its capacitors even though everything is unplugged. The waiting period allows enough time for them to discharge.
Plug everything back in, power up the computer and enter the BIOS again. If everything went well there should be no more password. In some cases, if you get weird error messages during bootup now, you will need to goto “Load BIOS Defaults” in BIOS and save the changes to fix them.

Tried to rest my password entered old password

There is only one way, you have to open up the computer and remove the cmos battery, it looks like a watch battery with shrink plastic around battery with a red and black wire that plugs into the motherboard, this will reset the password, it is a little secret trick, techs use, you may be able to get to the battery by removing the little back lid that is on the underside of the laptop, sometimes it is located there, if not, you need to carefully remove, pry up the plastic strip above keyboard, then you will see the few screws that attach the key board, under key board you should be able to locate battery, remove, disconnect it for 30 seconds then replace it, and you just reset password so you can get in your computer, good luck. all else fails go to best buy and you can buy a password recovery software.

How do i override the password on my medion notebook laptop?

I assume you are referring to a system (hardware) password that you are challenged for when powering up the laptop, not the operating system password. You can just reinstalll the O/S into another folder to get access to the system and all the data files ...

Two types of system passwords exist;

1 type is the password stored in an area of the mainboard that is called CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) a completely fancy way of saying an area whoes data is kept alive by a battery. You need to know if your model laptop uses a CMOS battery and how you can disconnect it. Go to the manufactures website at: . If you can pull the battery for 30 minutes or so, then you may erase the password.

2 If you have a system that writes this password to a non-destructive area of the systems memeory in order to prevent data theft, you have a more difficult time removing the password. Some Lenovo systems must swap out the main board. the password cannot be accessed. Try the battery if you can, else Google medion laptop hacks
