What is the difference between fail-safe defaults and optimized defaults in bios

failsafe defaults are settings that aren't necessarily the best settings for the computer but should work with any operating system, optimized defaults utilize the hardware to it's optimum capability

Bios setting problem?

Optimal Defaults and Fail Safe Defaults are two different sets of values. If you set one after the other the second would have replaced the first. Try setting back to optimal again.

If you still see errors relating to the Ethernet adapter find the Ethernet adapter in your BIOS settings and set it to Auto. If you still see errors try all of the available Ethernet settings.

Hope this helps you get your computer running again.
