I accidently click thr format option and delted all my photos is there a way to recover the deleted photos

No, you have great chance, no matter you photos in Canon camera got deleted, formatted by accident or became inaccessible due to camera memory card errors. Chances of recovery is possible as long as you take the right action.

Take a try of this Canon Undelete Software, Not only general photo formats, but Canon RAW photo formats (.cr2 or .crw) can be retrieved easily.

Note: before the photos are recovered, Never should you attempt to take more photos or save more data to the memory card in case chances of photo recovery might be reduced. Hope it helps. Regards.

Does not take photos. Before this it was using

Found what I needed on http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/11/canon-digital-cameras-showing-black.html, thanks. Am now in contact with Canon for what I hope will be a free repair (although in Australia they require the customer to be freight when sending the camera to Sydney).

I have the same basic problem.

The camera sensor is bad. It can be replaced if you still have warranty. If its out of warranty, get a new camera - the cost to repair = cost of new camera.

Is there a free download to make the Powershot S2is Vista compatible?

Sorry, Canon did not upload the drivers for the Vista OS for many of its cameras. But no matter, please see the following blog article, as it describes the use of a card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue:

Try to see If you can see a photo in Playback mode from your memory card (Transfer a good photo to the card first) Do all the menus display correctly? If so it would seem the camera sensor (ccd) is bad. Canon had a recall on these models with bad sensors and will repair them free of charge.

A95 LCD screen black and unable to take photos

There are quite a few of us with symilar problem, but the screen is not completely black: it has some purple or pinkish color when facing light. Old pics and menu can still be viewed. I noticed 4 symilar threads on Canon A95 within the last 5 mins without any search, just looking at the top questions.
