Question about Panasonic CT-36SL13 32" TV

1 Answer

Loud noise then no power

I've had my Panasonic TV for about 3 years now. The other day, I turned on the TV and it made a loud noise then shut itself off. Before this it would do a click and then come on when you hit the power button. But this time it was really loud, shook the cabinet even. Now, it won't even come back on. Is there something I can do to fix it myself? Or, would it be worth having someone look at it? Of course, they will have to come to my house cause this thing is like 200+ pounds. Any suggestions would be great !

Re: Loud noise then no power

I recommend having a service call done in the home due to the size and weight of the set. Is the set HDTV ready or compatable? IF it isn't i would consider a new tv. Good luck on your quest. Jay

This model is renonwed for arcing from the ultar cap to ground.
please check the horizontal transistor and if short replace it, but before you turn it on first discharge the tube and then remove the ultar cap and clean both the tube contact point using wd 4o and also the cap itself. if you do want to prevent it from happening again. use some silicon to block out any future moisture collection below the cap.

if it still doesnt start then that means that the digital plug in module has been damaged.

Samsung DLP loud vibrating noise

The color wheel is the most common problem in DLPs that cause noise. To determine the cause: Turn the set off. If the noise goes away after about five seconds, then, the problem is the color wheel. If the noise goes away one to two minutes after shut off, then, the problem is a fan. You can find an Authorized Servicer in your area that can tell you the price of repair, by clicking on the Samsung link:
