Question about Sharp Televison & Video
We have a Sharp Aquos LCD TV. There have been times in the past when I felt the volume was actually lower than what the screen was showing, but yesterday it really got bad. You have to turn the volume up extremely high to be able to hear it at all and then you get significant white noise with it. However, it only is happening on cable. With DVDs, the volume is working fine. We tried turning the TV off and then back on and also unplugging it and re-plugging it. No difference.
You will have to go into the cable box's menu and adjust the volume control features there as the catv box can control the volume also which is what you are experiencing.

If there's no sound at all, switching channels or not, then you may want to check this out:

the sharp some models dont put a spacer between the speaker and the case causing the speaker to hit the case at med to high volume you can check this and make you a spacer out of washers on each screw that mounts the speakers between the case and peaker frame make sure that the washers or spacers you use dont contact the speaker core. and dont do anything that will void the warrenty if nothing else let the store fix it.

User 'rapolley' is absolutely right. One can cycle through the functions to access different options, ie. 'TV', 'Audio', 'DVD', etc. I stumbled upon this solution when I thought my 'Menu' button wasn't working. All I had to do is cycle through the 'Functions' and choose 'Menu' once I get to 'TV'. Thanks!

TV is under warranty. Get a tech to look at it. It could require a new IR sensor, a firmware upgrade or a system reset that only a tech can do called an Industry Initialization that is in the service mode only

How many times per second does the POWER led blink? (dont worry about the OPC).
1x per second (constant, steady blink) = bad inverter/lamps
2x per second = bad power supply
3x per second = bad main board
There isnt really anything you can do to fix it yourself, you can order the part over EBay, not hard to install just unscrew/unplug --- plug/screw..
