DI-624. ROUTER LOSES ETHERNET CONNECTION. IT IS CABLED, NOT BEING USED WIRELESS. UNITL NOW, I COULD POWER-DOWN, POWER-UP TO RECONNECT, BUT EVEN THAT DOES NOT SEEM TO WORK ANYMORE. I HAVE RESORTED TO CONNECTING MY DSL DIRECTLY TO MY PRIMARY DESKTOP AND GIVEN UP RUNNING MY XP HOME NETWORK THAT INCLUDES TWO OTHER DESKTOPS IN A PEER-TO-PEER ENVIRONMENT. INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE ROUTER SHOW GREEN EVEN WHEN THE CONNECTION IS GONE. HAS THE UNIT DIED, OR IS THERE SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM?

Have you tried plugging it into each of the four ports? If so I would agree the unit has died. If you don't want to let go you could check to see if a fimware update is available and see if that resets it.

Unable to get PC to recognize wireless connection with DI-624

Which is it? PC cant connect or not able to setup wireless? If the router came with a setup CD, run that from your pc... Make sure you have a crossover Cat5(ethernet) cable connected between the router and a PC just to set it up initially... within the router can enable or disable wireless function... But to really narrow your device down, i need to know the hardware revision number... its on the same label as the MAC address on the outside of your router

Router does'nt work . I can get online when I connect directly to the cable service and bypass the router, but when I plug the the ethernet cable into the router, I can't get wireless service.

Dear Werstellar,
Try resetting the router back into default, you can do that by holding the reset button on the back of your router for 30 seconds the uplug the power,
Once done connect a cable from a LAN port to your PC and connect the Ethernet cable from your modem to the WAN port of your DI-624.
Open your internet browser and type 192.168.0.1 the log into your router.
you can either run the wizard or go straight to manual configuration.
for manual configuration connection type : choose DHCP.
and then click on clone my Mac address. once this is done click save and reboot.
then log back to your router by typing 192.168.0.1 into your internet browser and go to wireless set up under encryption choose WPA as it is more secure and then type your network ID (This will be a password for your wireless network and it has to be a minimum of 8 DIgits or letters or a combination of both.
once done go to system from the menu and choose save and reboot.
Now unplug the power for both modem and router, then plug the power for your modem first wait few minutes until all the lights on your modem are up then power up your DI-624 give it few minutes and you should be able to go online on both wired and wireless connection.
any more help just ask

connect the the ethernet cable to the WAN port of the modem.

the connection should be:
One end of the cable is connected to the modem and the other should be connected at the WAN port of the modem.

Now use another Ethernet cable plug it in on the LAN port1 and the other end to your computer.

Access the configuration page of your router and set the wireless setting inside your DI-624 router.
