Rowe CD 100 err 05-62

I've got a Rowe CD-100. Was working fine for a while.
Started intermittenly stopping and just spinning the CD really fast. A reboot of the system fixed this usually.
Now, when the unit is turned on, the CCC, and Mech controler flash "Board Error" and the mech doesn't even move.
I looked in the error history, and it comes up as err 05-62 CDM communication error. I have a service manual, and it points to power not getting to decoder, or bad mech.
I since then, bought a decoder/mech controler (from ebay), and installed it. Still same problem.
A friend of mine had a complete spare mech sitting in his garage. I borrowed it, installed it. Same problem.
I pulled the power supply for the juke out, and verfied every pin was putting out the correct voltage. I verfied the mech was getting the correct volages. Still, same problem.
Just for giggles, I unplugged the rowe communication and power plug from the OBA, same problem.

Has anyone run into this problem before? Am I barking up the wrong tree with looking at the mech? Starting to pull my hair out on this one.

Hello,

I know you say you have checked the power supply for the voltages, did you do that with the jukebox still connected if not it could be that the voltages are breaking down under load.
The way I test the PSU's on jukeboxes is to check them under load (on the bench I use 12 volt and 24-28 volt volt lamps)

I would check the voltages at the service switch to make sure that the service switch is not your problem.

I would reset all the error codes and check for new errors.

How do I slow the speed of the 45s on my rowe r-92 jukebox .The records are playing a little too fast

Hi,

The turntable motor on the jukebox range of R-84 to R-93 is none adjustable.
If you are in the USA then the motor operates on 60hz but in Europe it would have to be on 50hz to do this a different pulley is used.

The Rowe Ami part numbers are as followes:-

30791907 Turntable Motor Assembly 60hz
30791908 Turntable Motor Assembly 50hz
21817801 Motor Pulley 60hz
21817802 Motor Pulley 50hz

These can be ordered from a Rowe Ami dealer or you could try www.victoryglass.com

Rowe Jukebox CD-100E. When I turn it on the

AT THIS TIME YOU ARE NOT SURE IF THE PROBLEM IS IN THE LASER ASSEMBLY, OR THE AMPLIFIER?
BORROW OR RENT, AN AMPLIFIER HOOK IT UP TO THE OUT PUT ON THE LASER OUT PUT ON THE LASER CD OUT PUT. LOOK AT LASER UNIT IT HAS A MARKING ON IT THAT SAYS AUDIO OUT PUT. PUT CABLE TO A SECOND AMPLIFIER.
THAT WAY IF IT STILL FADES. THEN THE CD LASER IS THE PROBLEM . IF THE SOUND IS GOOD THEN THE AMPLIFIER IS AT FAULT
DOCTOR FIX IT

Clean the laser eye with a cotton bud. Otherwise it is probably a laser unit problem.

Err message on 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee 10 CD changer

I had a similar problem which responded to the use of a CD cleaner disc to clean the laser lens reading the CD. The "err" messages stopped and the changer started to work as it had before. Perhaps this will correct your problem too.

CD Player stopped working

Probably there is dust on the lens. My CD player (different brand) did the same. I opened the case and cleaned the lens with a photo camera brush (VERY gently). Now it works fine.

If you cannot / do not want to open the device to access the lens, you may want to buy a cleaning CD.
