Question about Canon PIXMA iP3000 InkJet Photo Printer

Open Question

I have a pixma 3000. Everyday the yellow does not print properly until after i have cleaned it. I have tried deep cleaning but the next day it is back to needing cleaning again. If I don't clean it it does eventually clear on its own but obviously this is not a good situation to be in. Can you advise please.

When elements on the printhead burn out, that's what it looks like. You need a new printhead, QY6-0057-000, around $50.00

in the print out alone you can already know what print head is no working properly like missing color. if cleaning is not solving the issue this purging the print head. just read the user manual for the instruction

How do you go about cleaning printer head

there is a cleaning utility "printhead clean" and printhead deep clean" under "maintenance" in the "printer properties". Try that first. If that doesn't help and there is definitely ink in the cartridge(s), you can remove the cartridges and soak the printheads in 5mm of hot water for 1/2 hour or so. DRY WELL then install back in printer and run "printhead deep clean".
Another way is to isolate the colour that doesn't print properly and print few pages in that colour (eg if yellow is not printing right...set out a full page of yellow background and print on high quality setting until yellow starts to print ok). This wastes less ink than the cleaning utility.

good luck with it

MP 620 not printing black on documents

If you unplug printer when carriage is in the center, look to the right with a flashlight and see if the filter pads are seated properly in the purge assembly, if all looks good, you may need a new purge assembly. It is either not capping properly or not cleaning properly.

Printer not printing

find the maintance section of your print driver display ( far right of the display ) should see a maintance tab.
do a cleaning cycle or a deep cleaning cycle and see what happens. it should start printing.
if necessary make up a solid single color block on a windows word doc using the squares make them no line perimiters and do a black blue red and yellow about 1/2 inch tall and 7 inches wide
as a test pattern. the color that doesnt print is clogged
in the future try not to let the inks run completly dry before they are replaced.
if that doesn't help use isoprople alcohol 91proof on a cotton swab or clean cloth and let the print head soak in it for 5 minutes and try again.

Canon pixma iP2000 no yellow will print

Have you tried cleaning the ink pads on the print head using a can of compressed air and blowing from the inside outwards, taking the print head off first. You can usually buy a tin of compressed air in somewhere like PC world.

My canon pixma /ip3000 printer isn't using the yellow ink, I have installed new ink tanks and ran clean and deep clean printer head and manually adjusted the color setting to max, did not correct problem....

Repeated deep cleaning (about 12 times) has started to get the ink flowing again, I am printing something every day and hope the problem clears up totaly.
