Question about Hotpoint Aquarius WD640 Front Load Washer/Dryer

1 Answer

Start/Cancel button doesn't work. The machines on/off switch works ok, but the start/cancel doesn't seem to have any resistence and it won't start. I have had a look inside & taken off the PCB. All of the external buttons match to a button on the circuit board, except the start/cancel button. It looks as though there should be one & it's fallen off. Is this the correct assumption? Secondly, if I attempt replacing the PCB myself, anything particular I need to be careful of?

Your absolutey correct, the're should be a corresponding switch/pad for each button and if there is no resistance that's a good indication of a switch fault. If its missing you may be able to locate it and reinstall pending its not broken. If not there is nothing special to swapping it (just make sure to unplug the machine) other then not to damage the board or overtighten if any screws are holding it down.

I have a whirlpool duet gas dryer model ggw9200lw1. when i press the start button it clicks once but wont run.

First, check the door switch. Push and release it by hand and you should hear a click. If no sound, replace the door switch with this part.
If the switch is ok, press the cancel button on the machine. Then do this. press and hold the start button for 2 seconds then release wait 2 seconds and press and hold again for 2 seconds continue this pattern until the dryer goes into test mode. You will see all the lights on the control light up. press each button on the control one at a time 3 times each. (Do not press the cancel button) until the dryer begins to run. When the dryer starts to run then press the cancel button. Then your machine should function properly.

Date code 39 March 2005 to date code 42 June 2005
Press the cancel button and the machine should return to norma

Date code 43 July 2005 onwards
Press both start/cancel AND on/off TOGETHER with top left option button until 'dOFF' is displayed.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.

Programme not finished on/off button flashing won,t restart

As you do not specify model, itis difficult to give you an accurate answer to your problem.
If it has a start/cancel, or reset button, then switch washer off, wait a few seconds, then switch on again.
Press and hold start cancel button for 3 seconds, and then try to programme it again.
This is not guaranteed to solve the problem ,as I say, you do not specfy the model number.

My hoppoint washer wf 640 say test, what do i have to do to solve thgis?

Hiya,
It depends on the version of your machine, there are three methods so try them all.

Try pressing and holding 3start/cancel until all the leds light.
Then press start/cancel and on/off until dOFF is displayed.
Machine should now be ok.

If that one doesn't work.

Try pressing and holding the cancel button. Machine should now be ok.

Finally
Press and hold start/cancel, on/off and the top left option button until dOFF is displayed. Machine should now be ok.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Frigidaire F/L Washer - Delay Start will not reset?

I had this EXACT problem this morning and ended up calling the Sears Home Central Team out (I have an extended maintenance agreement). This is an error code that CAN BE RESET by the end user (you and me!) and doesn't need a repairmain. Here's what you do:

PRESS AND HOLD the START and CANCEL BUTTONS.
The four lights above the START button will begin to flash.
Continuing holding the START and CANCEL button and "spin" your wash selector knob to "SPIN".
Release the START and CANCEL buttons and Press the START button.
This will RESET the error codes within the system and allow you to "cancel out" of the DELAY START.

IF the error codes are "bad ones", then the system will stay locked and you'll need to call a repairman; however, this "fix" should work for MOST of the routine system error codes.

Worked on mine and we're a happy washing family once again!!

If you by accident press the start button and the cancel button at the same time it puts the washer into demo mode.To switch it off press both buttons at the same time and hold until dEND is displayed. Sometimes you have to keep trying but it will work, it did with mine ok.
