Question about KitchenAid 24 in. KUDS01DLSS Built-in Dishwasher

It appears that there is no power to the unit all of a sudden. I checked the breaker. I ran the dishwasher the day before with no issues. Any ideas on what could have happened?

It sounds like you may have blown the thermal fuse. The fuse is located behind the operator console. The part number for the replacement kit is 8193762. You can view an illustration at appliancepartspros.com. It sells for about $13 and instuctions with a wiring harness are included with the kit.

NOTE: You MUST follow the instructions and use the wiring harness. There were some noted problems with certain model dishwashers where the wire gauge on the thermal fuse was too small and would heat up causing the thermal fuse to blow prematurely. The replacement kit includes a wire harness with a larger gauge wire that handles current better, preventing the fuse from blowing prematurely. To ease your mind, there were no reports of fire hazard.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Dishwasher heating element won't turn off

Hello niki4god - I recommend resetting the dishwasher by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is important to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on the unit. An experienced service technician may need to further evaluate this issue if it was not resolved with the power reset. In this case, your unit may possibly be experiencing a communication problem with the control board or a potential wiring failure.

Lost all power to the unit. circuit breaker not

Hi - I have the same issue. After talking to our local repair shop and asking if there is any thermocoupler or some kind of fuse that can be replaced I was told that it probably is a problem on the controller board. :(
Please post if anybody has an idea - thanks!

I have a 7 yr old KitchenAid undercounter dishwasher that was working fine, then it suddenly appeared to lose power: no lights and no response when buttons pressed. The circuit breaker is not the problem....

Hello smaumer...

When you say that the circuit breaker is not the problem, are you sure you are getting power to the receptacle that supplies power to teh dishwasher ? Just because the breaker in your house does not appear to be tripped does not mean that you have power getting to the dishwasher itself. You need to check to see that you are actually getting AC power delivered to the dishwasher as your first course of action. There are normally two methods of supplying power to these.. the more recent method is to plug the dishawher into a receptacle that is dedicated for that and is normally located in the sink base cabinet..so if you have an outlet there, you can try plugging in a lamp or radio toit to verify you have power there.. Older techniques for supplying AC power to dishwashers usually require the removal of the toekick panel on the front of the dishasher to gain access to a junction box where the wires are joined. Do not attempt to check these wires unless you or someone you know is familiar with safe handling electrical systems like this ..but in general... you would need to verify that the black wire has 120VAC on it ... If you aren't trained in these areas, get someone who is... Hope that helps you...

Dishwasher without power

Check the electrical source. Possibly the breaker blew or he plug went bad.

The electrical load varies drastically during a cycle due to heater, motor, etc. If the breaker blew, ONLY reset it ONCE to try as there may have been a serious problem within the dishwasher. ALSO if the unit shares the power with another device that could cause the problem.

Maytag Dishwasher MDBH965AW No Power

Make sure there's power getting to the dishwasher. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the dishwasher (inside the junction box, behind the bottom kick panel), if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replace

Dishwasher stopped working..!!..!! please help

Hi crystal245,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: GE Nautilus Dishwasher suddenly stopped working. NOTHING!! it was fine one day then went kaput the next. I checked the plug in and the circuit breaker but still NOTHING

I run into this often. Ends up being loose, broken or burnt ellectrical connection in d/w junction box most of the time. It's under the d/w behind the kick plate on the right or center. Turn the power off first and remove the wire nuts. Replace wire nuts and/or repair wire ends as nessessary. Beyond that you're looking at a bad control board or failed connection in the unit.
