Had the same problem with my Jumbo Remote - found the code under the "General Instruments" list (051 for me). Also noticed that my cable box has a sticker on the front with a serial number starting with "GI," most likely more evidence of the General Instruments conection. Able to get all the functions to work: guide, menu, etc. Good luck!! - JQ

I tried about 4-5 times but seemed unable to get it to work. I tried also the CHAN ^ as well w/o much success.

The solution suggested in the manual actually works. We have a Motorola cable box from Comcast. Although the code for a Motorola cable box is not there in the manual, the remote can be programmed by following instructions under the heading "CODE SEARCH SETTING" on page 3. It did take me a couple of tries (ie the cable top box turned off but would not turn on the first 2 tries) but it did eventually work.
