Question about Fuji FinePix A850 Digital Camera
When power button is pressed and held pressing, it would continue making clicking sound..doesn't get powered on and nothing is on the display with no extension of lens.... bought new batteries but didn't work.. 1st i thought it would be a common lens stuck problem but after opening the cover and externally powering the lens extending motor i found the lens is not stuck. ( i am sure i didn't damage any component or circuit during this process) it still making this sound... why? i used it only for a day... and after 15 days keeping unused with batteries inserted when i tend to power it on it start making that sound... its a new one but i do not have any warranty as it was sent to me as a gift from other country....please help me..

I have been told by a camera mechanic i contacted on line (in America) that there is a fuse within the camera which is very small and soldered onto one of the boards. I was unable to get a precise location and the only details were that this component was either white with black writing or black with white writing. This may have a bearing on your problem.

You said that you changed the battery, did you put it in the right way around?.
I had exactly the same trouble, changed the battery (got it on ebay for £2.99) charged it and it worked.
Having said that, I closed the lense from external power. If the camera wont operate from external power then the camera is probably dead.

Can you get any signs of life? playback pictures etc? Try pressing the playback button instead of the power button. If camera display works then press the picture button and see if the camera will switch over and the lens extends. Also check if the tab on the battery door is not broken. This operates a micro switch to cut off power

Make sure the battery or batteries are either fully charged or are new. If it still will not work, then the camera needs repair, and it may be better to sell it then for parts or repair, as is on a site such as Ebay.

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.
