Compaq laptop green pink screen pixalted

One of the things is to hook it to another monitor and see if that still happens. If it does not then it is most likely the screen on the laptop. Not to worry though it could be the cable that connects the laptop motherboard to the screen. When you open and close the lid, it flexes the cable and the little wires in can break. The cable is not cheap though. One way to test this is to change how far the lid opens by flexing it open and closed to see if the screen changes. If it does then it is that cable.

Emachines w2828 keeps shutting down reboot/Screen Freeze

I dont thing this is a virus problem but a heat problem. if you dont mind getting inside the box see how clean it is and put your hand on the power box case .. then unplug all the hardware except the mother board then turn the unit on, if it goes on then plug 1 hardware at a time.

Only shows compaq on screen

I work with Compaq computers now and usually your problem points to the hard drive. I know Compaq's will stay on that screen if the hard drive has failed. Try another hard drive would be my suggestion.

Hope this helps.

Unless compaq displays that message when the computer goes into sleep mode, it could be a virus.

Compaq computer doesn't boot, no BIOS post screen/no video or beeps

welcome to fixya

does the computer turn on?

do any or the lights come on or is it just dead?

if compute does not turn on then you might want to make sure ever thing is plug in ...

if ever thing is pluged in and and still does not turn on this might be the power supply has gone bad ...

if computer turn on and nothing happens this could be a bad hard drive or the OS has messed up first try to but in your reboot disk this still nothing happens then the hard drive could be broken

hope this helps you out have a good day

Sounds like the monitor is going bad. I had this happen too and had to replace the monitor and it's been great since! If you can work fine, it's not the computer itself, it's the monitor.
