I created different folders to download music from various artists. I had left my computer on while in process of downloading music. A new folder was created and I had to leave the premises. My mom decided to turn off my computer, while that new folder was open, and now that folder is a system folder using about 54G of memory. Windows XP will not allow me to delete nor change it. How can I reclaim this memory?

as you can delete the folder one by one as you have created on your own by default at sys folder thats the only option

try also to system restore option from control panel

Okay, first of all: i dont think there is anything you can do to get your music back in original quality.
but there are some tools that might help you:
Undelete Plus is one. It can recover files from currupted usbs, but again, you will most likely lose some of the bits in your music.

there are also some ways of making the device uncorrupt again
try this guide.

but it would have been easier to make a backup of your music :)

I have a new laptop... I am trying to download music from my computer to my ipod. I think I am missing some kind software to make this happen.

If you do not have iTunes already downloaded onto your new laptop then you need to download it before you can put music from your computer onto your iPod.
Go to this link to download iTunes (free). Once it is downloaded, you have to import your music that's on your computer onto your iTunes. This will take a while if you have a lot of music.
After that is done, you will be able to plug your iPod into your laptop and iTunes should recognize it and from there you'll be able to put your music onto the iPod.
Remember though, after you format your iPod to a PC you cannot plug it into a Mac (or Mac then to a PC) to put music on it, as it is already formatted to one and if you want music from the other you will have to reformat it which causes you to lose all of your music currently on it.
Be sure that the computer you are formatting it to (PC or Mac) is the kind you will be using for music at all times.
I hope this helps :)

My computer does not recognize that my dell dj is plugged in when using yahoo music jukebox. When I try to transfer music from the computer to the dj, it tells me "no device connected".

I started it, and it removed all drivers for my dell dj. I then made sure the dj was unplugged. Restarted the computer, then I then downloaded the latest dell firmware, v. 2.20.07.

Found here-

FINALLY, after all that, it did in fact connect, and load the firmware successfully."

I can confirm this does work mine is now working perfectly!!

iPods connect to your computer via iTunes.
You can download iTunes here free:
All the music files currently in your Windows Media Player can all be transferred into iTunes, so no worries about losing your music.

Hope that helps.

try restoring the ipod, go here for instructions. Once it has been restored to its original settings you can just sync your music to it again, and hopefully this will resolve you problem.

If you do not have your music backed up on the computer and you are worried that you will lose it there is a free program you can download called idump, you can download it from here

this will let you copy your music from your ipod onto your computer then you will be able to copy it back onto your ipod after if you do not have it backed up in itunes already.

I hope this helps

Apple Ipod isnt recognized on computer

You can only sync one ipod with one computer so if you put music on it already it will only work with the original computer you synced it with. Same with ANY ipod.

I replaced my hard drive on my computer. I lost my music on my computer. How do I get my music back into itune, on my computer, without losing my music on my ipod.
This is sharepod. it is an easy to use tool that you can use to copy music to and from your PC and ipod. It can be run from the ipod or pc, mnaking it portable. This would be easier than using recovery tools because some data may have been overwritten and unrecoverable. Best Of all Theprogram is free!

Ipod shown in recovery mode when plugged into new itunes version

Each iPod usually only syncs up to 1 computer. try downloading a program called idump. It allows you to take all of your music and files off the ipod and onto the computer, without having to restore. Then you'll have to restore the ipod, and put all the songs back onto it.
