Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook
I have a Dell D600 which has assisted me through the past 4 years with no hiccups. However, this has changed this week:
I had to change the motherboard frame (as the LCD screen hinges had snapped), and have done so with the utmost care. However, the laptop freezes when it detects a network...
I have removed the hard drive and tested it in another D600, which also freezes when trying to access the internet.
I have tried wireless and cabled connections with the same result.
Could someone please help?
Try a repair of the network connection (Right click it, repair) that will clear several settings that might be an issue. If no change boot to safe mode with networking, see if issue occurs in safe mode. If issue doesn't occur in safe mode, then you might try a system restore to a time period when the issue was not occurring. You can flash the BIOS to a current version if a newer version is available. You can uninstall the driver in the safe mode, reboot and re-install the driver. If the issue does not occur in the safe mode, you may also try editing the startup group of MSCONFIG to see if a driver installed there is causing an issue Last but not least, run a malware scan of the system (Malwarebytes from Download.com is highly recommeneded)
