Refusal to display

Hello Aopen
Motherboard: i915GMm-HFS Desktop
Cpu: Pentium M 740 1.73 Ghz (533 FSB)
Memory: Crucial CT646AA53E-4FE DDR2 1Gb
Psu: Seasonic 250w ATX

I wonder if you can help me with a problem I’m having with the above system refusing to post and display any graphic output (though the M/b led lights and the fans run.I don't get any beep codes). All the parts are new with the exception of the psu. I’ve tried it just on the bench without any other ancilliaries (eg hard drive or optical drive and dependant on the onboard graphics rather than using a separate graphics card) and I wonder if the psu (which is elderly) has enough power (even though a Pentium M system has low requirements anyway). I’ve tried both VGA and DVI outputs on a CRT and a LCD monitor without any success. The CRT monitor has a solenoid start and this sounds quite feeble which is why I suspected insufficient power. I would be grateful for any advice.

Hey bud did you try testing your memory chips popping them out one by one and see if your memory chip is bad its happened to me many times and also if you have had the pc running and swiched in your bios from onboard vga to off since your running an upgraded video card if you take that card out youll need to switch it back in the bios system back to on.other then that might be a motherboard problem ive had that happen to many times.or could be something small like a bad ribbon has cuased that for me before amd.godfather@yahoo.com(questions or comments)

Unfortunately, these are old processors and I don't see any available new. Newegg.com lists a couple available as refurbished. You may be better off getting a new computer with either a Intel I3 or current AMD processor.

I would guess not, but If you already have them both, then try it. If not then I'd get a cpu or motherboard to match the other. I once got a 2.8ghz p4 and wanted to swap it for a 3.2ghz I had lying around, quickest way was to try it out, it didn't work so I swapped them back and put the 3ghz in another pc later on, both still worked perfectly.

you may check
1) your Intel pentium 4 3.2 GHZ cpu socket 478 processor #sl7nb what's FSB?( see on the chip surface, if 533 FSB can use but 800FSB could not match your motherboard if which is not support 800 FSB. that's why no display.
2) check RAM stick speed, try to increase a level, for example 266 to 333.
