It must be the drainage hose, the water cant go anywhere else. The majority of the drainage hose is out of view, unless you've taken the whole thing apart, so it must be blocked.

Hopefully, it will be under warrenty, or you're looking at arounf £70 for someone to come out and fix it.

In the future, every three months or so, put your washing machine on the hottest cycle with clear vinager, and a dash of bleach; this will help unblock any potential blockages.

  1. step 1 A washing machine won't spin if the water can't drain. Check hoses for any kinks or clogs that may prevent the water from draining. If a hose has kinks, try to straighten out the kinked hose. If it can't be straighten sufficiently, replace the hose. If hoses are not kinked, check for clogged hoses. This can be done by using the screwdrivers to remove the hoses and looking for clogs or running a water hose through the clogged hose to remove the clog. Use the rags and bucket to clean up the water that comes out of the hoses when they are disconnected. Once the clog is cleared, put the drain hose back into place. The washer should drain and spin now if a clogged or kinked hose was the problem.
  2. Step 2 If the washer still won't drain or spin, check to see if the lid is not closing all the way or if the lid switch is not clicking into place. Close the lid and make sure that it closes all the way down. When the lid closes, the lid switch should click. If there is no clicking sound, then the switch may need to be replaced. Follow manufacturer's directions for replacing the switch. If the lid does not close all the way, visually check for signs that the lid is bent. If bent, try to bend it back into place.
  3. Step 3 Loose or broken belts could also prevent a washing machine from draining or spinning. Pull the washer away from the wall and, using the screwdrivers and wrenches, remove the back panel. Using the flashlight, visually check for any broken or loose belts. Replace any broken or loose belts. Although replacing washing machine belts is difficult, anyone who has replaced belts on a car, lawn mower or even a bicycle chain should be able to accomplish the task.
  4. Step 4 Another possibility for a washing machine to not spin or drain is the pump. With the back panel still off the washer, check the pump with the voltmeter to ensure that the pump is getting power. If the washer is getting power, turn on the washer and listen to find out if the pump is running but the water is still not draining. It may be necessary to remove the pump and clean it or to replace the pump with a new one. Once the pump is replaced, turn on the washer to determine if it will now drain and spin.
  5. Step 5 If all of the above steps fail to produce a washing machine that drains or spins, then it is time to call a professional repairman. Use the screwdrivers and wrenches to replace the panel on the washer and push it back against the wall.

Hi i have a 9.5kg simpson washing machine error code PU31 what does that mean as my machine is not spinning out washing

Pump error. It means drain pump is either blocked or faulty. Water is not draining out or very slowly. Water has to all drain away before the machine will spin. Get the water out by lowering the drain hose down into a bucket. When machine is empty then remove and check the drain pump.

Water wont drain away when in its final spin, and i have have fitted a new drain pump

If you changed the drain pump I would check the following things:
1) Is the machine actually sending power to the pump to turn it on. You can check this by using a volt meter and with the machine open disconnect the power to the pump and place machine in drain and test to see if voltaqge is being sent to the pump
2) Check your lines and the drain itself. Any blockages could prevent draining.

The water starts to go in but drains straight away.

If the drain hose is too low and below water level the water has no reason to stay in the machine, and will flow straight through. If the water is pumping out during fill, you have a technical problem....Good luck....Nomess

It wont drain the water away after a wash we

sounds like your pump may be gone, or could be pipe blocked. to check pipe fill machine take outlet pipe at rear of machine and lay this into a bowl. If water flows ok then all pipes are clear. As water is coming through just put machine onto spin cycle and raise hose to see if water will then pump out.

The fabric softener drawer is half full of water which does not drain away, even after the washing machine has finished. The detergent drawer is fine. how can I drain this water away? Kind...

Remove drawer and thoroughly clean, you must have a blockage in it for the water to remain.
Make sure that you clean every piece of it, taking all the components out.
Please leave feedback.

Water not draing away and machine is not spinning

Empty your machine manually by lowering the drain hose into a bowl or bucket. Then remove the kick plate and check the filter for blockages. Before replacing try the machine on drain to see if the pump is running, if problem persists there may be a blockage in the pipe from the drum to the pump.

Check the drain hose, look for obstructions,
If dran hoe is fine, and it does not drain it is probably a faulty or obstructed drain pump.
