You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.

Lost ABC channels on retune, how do I regain reception

Try manually entering the channel number. Many TV's have, besides autoscan, a way to manually add or remove channels.
(Besides, what is worth watching on ABC? (;^D)

How to retune freeview tv

You need to do a Full Factory Reset tuning rather than just a rescan.

Rescan simply looks at the place holders where the old channels were stored and refreshes them. A Factory Reset (A.K.A. Shipping Condition) wipes the channel memories and starts again fresh.

might sound mean, but make sure you didn't hit MUTE.
Then check the settings for sound. Something may have changed during the retune.

How to retrieve lost channels on digital tv

To restore missing channels, you need to retune your digital receiver (box or TV).

The retuning process runs a scan and finds all the available channels. Your box may have an Add New Channels option that you can use, but this may not pick up other changes such as channels being moved to a different multiplex or removed altogether.
How to retune
  1. Switch on your digital box and/or TV.
  2. Press Menu on the remote control.
  3. Select the Setup or Installation option.
  4. Select the 'First time installation' option (sometimes called 'Factory reset', 'Full retune' or 'Default settings').
  5. Press OK if your equipment asks if you want to delete all your channels. Don't worry, this is normal.
  6. If you are prompted for a code, try 0000 or 1234.
  7. Channels will be automatically installed. This may take a few minutes and your equipment may shut down and restart.
  8. After retuning, you will have to redo your Favourites list and other settings. If you retune a digital TV recorder, you also should reset future recordings.

I purchased a Toshiba LCD TV/DVD 22 DV500B for our great grand daughter in setting it up, I went through the auto set up, then it asked annolog yes or no I pressed yes thinking I would get a few extra...

Hey, i had this exact problem, made the same mistake with selecting yes. Worked out the solution is to press the source button, then scroll down one to DTV/USB, and this will be the free view. Hope it helps, Ben

When i dial a number the phone cuts off and restarts

Please try resetting the phone to default settings and it should work. The default code should be the last 4 digits of your phone number unless you have changed it.

Restoring Phone Memory to Factory Conditions

This returns all settings to their factory default value and erases all user data including pictures, video, music, messages, contacts and downloaded applications stored on the phone.

  1. From the home screen tap MENU.
  2. Tap Settings & Tools.
  3. Scroll th screen up and tap 7.Phone Settings.
  4. Tap 5.Security, You're prompted to enter the lock code. The default lock code is the last four digits of your telephone number.
  5. Enter the Lock Code and tap DONE. The security menu appears in the display.
  6. Tap 5.Restore Phone. A prompt appears in the display asking if you wish to restore default settings and erase all user data including pictures, videos, music, messages, contacts, and downloaded applications stored on the phone.
  7. Tap Yes to reset and restore default settings or tap No to return to the Security list.

Bbc1 bbc2 have been deleted after retune why

When TV channels are moved from one frequency to another frequency that was previously used by a different channel (sorry, but there's no simple way of saying that !) as has happened recently in th UK, some digital TVs and digiboxes struggle to sort the channel list out properly and channels can go missing as you describe.

If your equipment has the option to delete all currently stored channels (normally in the tuning menu options) then do so and then do a full re-tune.
Sometimes, this solves the problem as the equipment is no longer aware of any previous use of a frequency and just loads every channel it finds.

If this doesnt work, or your equipment doesnt have the option, then there is normally the option soemwhere in the menus to retore the item to "factory defaults/configuration". This will clear all previously stored channels and after a full re-tune your missing chanels should be there. However, any other configuration changes you previously made, e.g picture size, output type (RGB/NSCT/etc), etc will be lost and you'll need to set these again.

NB. some regions of the country have lost some channels temporarily now until after the switch over programme completes at the end of 2012. If you visit the Freeview website, this will tell you if your area is affected.
