Printing crystal report on dot matrix, The printing is slow

Dear all

I am a newbie. ^^

I coded by vb.net for printing crystal report on dot matrix printer (Epson), but i found that too slow. T_T

How can I made it faster or define that it should print as draft or print speed by coding from vb.net, plz help me!!.

Please change the setting print direction from bidirection to unidirection.

SOURCE: Epson LX-300+II not printing in draft 10 cpi using visual studio .net

use courier font. it works just as draft font. no problem in VB-6 i hope it will also work with .Net as well.
tell if dont work.

SOURCE: How to increase the speed of Dot Matrix Printer using CrystalRpts

In the .rpt file select the printer fonts (they will have a printer icon next to them). These will print faster than truetype fonts.

Hello, Please, if you can change back to the former operating, is either the printer type is not compactable with the new windows(Windows7). But first you have to check the net to see if you can try upgrading the software of the printer. Please if you've done this let me know what happened next.

Make sure you have the right driver (ie mx80). Only one or two drivers will work well in dos. It may also need a string added to the report to force it to go to the dos printer. Another thing that can affect size is the font size or font size must be placed in the header of the report.

IBM 6400 Dot Matrix Printer - Need Drivers for Windows XP
Try running couple of these test, to see if it might be another issue.
It should be printing these test at 1500 Line Per Minute... ?
1500LPM is at 10CPI if you have (Font size: 6, 8, 12, 14) it will make a difference.
Change your driver to Generic/Text, rerun your report... any difference?

How to create crystal report in asp.net with vb script code
You can open the Crystal Report (should be installed with Visual Studio first) after you designed your database, then you have to connect the Crystal Report to the right database (the one which you store financial information in your case), then you can create your report easily by putting the desired variables and designs. Then you have to call for that report with a code within visual basic.

usually if you are using vb.net to make a application, it must included the crystal report component. you can use that component to create a customized reports. after you search the component but you cannot find it, maybe you need the crystal report application to create. Trying to find a crystal report application and install into your pc. you must be able to create a report after you installed this program.

Hello CPA,
The communications protocol may not be correct between VB6 and printer. Look in the Add-in Manager for the proper printer lib. Crystal is hard to work with from VB6. I know this is not much, but have you tried using the application wizard? Also there is a lot of information on MSN @ microsoft.
