Question about HP Compaq d530 PC Desktop

2 Answers

I have an HP Desktop D530 and am wanting to connect to the Internet but in Device Manager I have the yellow question mark on Ethernet. I know I will have to download the driver. Could someone please provide me the correct link for the right driver to burn and also the correct steps to follow after I burn the link. Here's a link to the actual dekstop that I have http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Home.jsp?lang=en&cc=au&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=316713〈=en&cc=au Thanks so much!

Download the multi operating system drivers from:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp42001-42500/sp42471.exe

Save on your desktop and double click on this file to start the installation of drivers, once complete restart the computer and that is all. The yellow exclamation mark should be gone now and you can connect to Internet.

I need an ethernet controller driver for my dell dimension 4600 desktop

Well that is a problem. You can go to "support.dell.com" to download the drivers, however since you can't connect to the internet you will need to use a friends computer and download it.

Wont hook to the enternet

The Ethernet adapter may be conflicting or competing with the wireless adapter for the Internet connection. Try turning off the wireless adapter. You can either disable it in device manager, or some HP laptops have a button next to the screen that will turn it off. If you don't get an Internet connection, restart the laptop and try again.

If that doesn't help, I would suspect the Ethernet adapter driver is faulty. Check it under device manager. If it has a yellow exclamation point, question mark, or is not listed, the driver needs to be installed or reinstalled. If it simply has a red X on it, enable the adapter.

If the Ethernet adapter is fine, try a different Ethernet cable. If THAT doesn't help, it's probably software related.

A firewall may be keeping you from browsing. Some firewalls may see the Ethernet connection as an entirely different connection than the wireless one. Try disabling all firewalls.

Thanks

I have an HP Desktop D530, which is normal size not the Ultraslim and am wanting to connect to the Internet but in Device Manager I have the yellow question mark on Ethernet. I know I will have to download...

Hi,

This Question mark can still arise if you have updated drivers. If you have updated drivers then, there may be a conflict on the PCI bus so try the following. In Device Manager right click on the device and click Uninstall and then shutdown the PC. Next, remove the adapter from the PCI slot and then boot up the PC and then shut it down again and plug the adapter into a different slot and boot the PC. When the Found New Hardware appears cancel out of it and then run the driver install file that you just downloaded and reboot and then check to see if the issue is now resolved.

Now, If you do not have updated drivers, you may download from :-

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=316715&taskId=135&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=316713&lang=en&cc=us

Select your O.S and select the driver you wanted to install.

Let me know, if need further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Do accept the solution, if 100% satisfied from my service!!

Hi,

It does not matter whether you use drivers from Hp website or from a sister concern website. I have seen many cases, where Hp don't have any drivers but still certain drivers available online help the customers.
