Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Hit format & it wiped everything from mp3 player

Once the format selection has been pressed, it is next to impossible to recover the lost files. You would have to call a data recovery expert, and the cost would probably be in the neighborhood of $300 to $600 dollars - if it is even possible. I have searched far and wide for detailed instructions on recovering such data, and the problem is that the software you need to perform such a recovery costs hundreds of dollars.

When I was a kid, I used the format command on an old IBM PCJr, and ended up erasing my favorite game. It happens to the best of us.

When i got my ipod 5 32gb it wont go to the setup assistant and it goes straight to the battery and the battery is gone

Which is it an iphone or ipod touch 4 or ipod 5 32 gb ???
Reset an iPod 32GB
Resetting a 32 GB iPod touch is a frightening prospect.
The restoration process deletes all data, including applications, music, movies and everything else when the device is restored to factory standard condition.
Luckily, iTunes gives you the ability to back up your data before wiping the device clean.
This means if your device locks up regularly and is functioning poorly, or you've forgotten your password and you can't get in, you can wipe your iPod Touch clean and get things moving again.

Launch iTunes on your computer and connect your iPod Touch using the USB cable provided with the device.
Select your iPod from the "Devices" list in iTunes and click the "Summary" tab.
Click "Restore."

Click "Back Up" if you wish to back up your data before wiping the device clean.
This is your last chance to save anything that hasn't yet been backed up to your computer.
Click "Don't Back Up" if you would rather skip straight to the reset.

Click "Restore" and wait while iTunes formats your iPod Touch and reinstalls the factory standard software.
Click "OK" when the process is complete.

Leave your device connected to the computer while it restarts.
When it is again visible in the iTunes device list, the process is complete.

When i went to put some more songs on it it wiped everything and now "says no files" when i try to put a song on it wants to re-format disk? but i aint using a disk?

Although your player is equipped with flash memory and not disk, your device will appear on your computer as a drive named as "removable disk". You can re-format this:
Use windows explorer and right click on this drive and choose from the pull down menu the "format" option. The type of format should be FAT or FAT32.
Then your player will be empty, no media files will exist and you can use your device again.
Take care certain type of players must not be formatted using windows but only with its own software.
You should look for this in its user manual.
Good luck!
Thanks.

you can do this by using your system, you connect it via usb and the next thing is to locate the device under your computer(my computer). after doing this, you will need to right click on the device, select format and then do a quick format. this should wipe out everything on the device.

Don't know my apple ipod combination unlock code.can u help me?

The only way to get around it is to restore your ipod. This will unfortunetly wipe your ipod clean and youll have to put everything back on it but at least you'll be able to use it again.

To restore it plug it into your computer and in itunes click on your ipod under devices and click the restore button under the summary tab.

Sansa 260 4GB

Will Windows read it as a flash drive?
If so, find a file recovery program like undelete or something, use it to restore your files, then turn on the sansa, then select format( if it is a view) and it will delete all your songs
