When pictures are taken the picture is whitish and

when pictures are taken the picture is whitish and has horizontal lines running through the picture. Sometimes after taking multiple pictures it returns to normal but not always. I have already tried cleaning the lens.

Sounds like a cold fault (only faults when first on mostly)
or it could have a loose connection, or the CCD (picture taking device) faulting.
It needs to go in for service.
