It sounds like camera got ccd imager failure problem so it does not show you live view to take pictures.
There are number of Canon camera models has similar problem and Canon offers free of cost repair for same problem, click Canon CCD Imager Advisory and check with Canon if they can fix it in free of cost scheme.

If problem is different then let me know with bit detail.
Thanks.

Thanks for update, above said symptoms shows problem in lens drive circuit and possible cause would be misaligned/ broken gears/grooves in lens mechanism.
Qualified camera tech or nearest Canon service center can fix it properly.
    Thanks.

The screen on my Canon 7D will not display anything when in manual mode. The camera works perfectly when it is set to Auto, but when I take it off auto the screen gets dead. There is no viewing the photos,...

This is what I want to say. On a Canon camera, always press the display button several times, to cycle through all possible screen options. Including the display nothing.
Try this in the recording and in the view mode just to get used to what it does.

I have no display on my screen but the camera is taking photos onto the disk, is this a fault with the screen or have the settings been altered

There is problem with the lcd displayof your camera. you have to take the camera to the service center. Do not attempt to open the camera because the flash system contains high voltage and you may get an electric shock even if the battery is removed.

White streaks on all photos but not video

Your camera has a defective CCD imager. Please return the camera prepaid to Canon in New Jersey, they are replacing the CCD at no charge to the customer. This is a known issue and is resolved by many of the manufacturers using the Sony CCD element in their cameras at no charge. Good Luck my friend. Joe Weibel customelectronics.org

Cant get Best Shot or View to dial up.

If your buttons aren't working properly I would send it in to Casio and have them fix it. I would call them and tell them that your camera needs sent in for repair and see where the closest place is for you to send it. You can call them at 800-706-2534 and then keep choosing option 1.
