I have a sound stream xta 600.2 what would be the best 12" subs to with it

match your total rms output at the resistance you will be running the amp at to the subs.
example:
if your amp puts out 300w RMS@ 4ohms, then it will produce 600w RMS@ 2ohms. half the resistance, double the power.
So now that you know your available power, you should get speakers that will be used to the fullest at that given resistance.
example:
If you have two 4 ohm subs that have a power handling of 300 watts, Then you can wire them in parallel ( + to + and - to -) to get a 2 ohm load (which will be 300w per sub with the above amp) or in series (+ to - to + to -) to get an 8 ohm load. (300w amp @ 4ohms = 150w amp @8ohms = 75 per sub).

Keep in mind: choose the speakers to fit the amp, not the amp to fit the speakers. If the amp has more power than the speakers can handle, you will blow them. and ALWAYS USE RMS WATTAGES.

Not sure if you are getting two subs or single?

Anyways, amp is rated at 800 watts and probably under rated so it will push sub. Remember that you don't need to worry about max power, rather focus on RMS power rating.

What size amp needed with a sony explod player?

this bandpass enclosure is rated peak power at 1200 watts . what this means is that each subwoofer in the is peaked at 600watts to make 1200 watts . what your looking for is to power up the subs with rms continuous wattage . you need an amp that will put out 400 to 500 rms a channel to run this sub enclosure at 800 to 1000 watts rms to keep the speaker from blowing

audiopipe apf1801
71671968.jpg this amp will give you 1 channel @ 4 ohm x1 350 watts 1 channel @ 2 ohm x1 900 wats 1 channel @ 1 ohm x1 1800 watts you would have extra power for better subs with more power later but you get 900 watts which when connected right would mean 450 watts per sub be perfect for you . i sell this for $320.99 in my store can shipp any where in usa to contact me caraudioquestion@gmail.com

2 MTX Thunder Problem.. Bridging?

Is there a option on the chanels that say ''Bridged''? If so, you can hook the subs up in parellel or series to get different ohm loads. Usually the lower ohms, the more power amp puts out. Those subs can handle 225 watts RMS whitch means the power it can handle constantly. If the amp gives more than 225 watts RMs, you could be at risk of blowing the sub. If you could give me the model # of the amp, I can be of more help.

Amplifier For Powering Sony Xplod xs-l121p5

Pump the brakes!
You need to know the RMS power rating of the sub you are powering.
Dont exceed the RMS power rating of the sub by more than 25%.
If you see a peak power rating on either the sub or the amp, ignor it, means nothing. Always compare RMS ratings.
Example: a Sony 12" Xplod sub, boasting 1200 watts, will only handle, 350 watts RMS, so the amp you choose to power the sub should be 350 watts RMS as well, and should not exceed more than 25% of the RMS power handling (487.5 watts).
Bottom line, know your RMS numbers, not Peak.

I have one 12inch 1000 watt mtx sub what size amp should i buy

Hello taona80,

If the 1,000 watts is RMS, I'd recommend an amp in the 750-1,000 watt RMS range, perhaps like the Alpine MRP-M1000 or Rockford-Fosgate T1000bd. If the 1,000 watts is peak power, the subs continuous (RMS) power handling is much lower, probably 300-400 watts. In that case, I'd recommend the Alpine MRP-M500 or Rockford-Fosgate T500-1bd.

Hi i have two 10'' jenson xs sub and they are about 6 years old and i was wondering wut amp size i should buy to run them.

I believe these are 4ohms, if so buy a 2ohm stable monoblock amp, that puts out 250-300 watts RMS, and connect your subs to it in parallel, don't pay attention to peak watts, look at RMS watts, or continuous watts. If they're 2 ohms, buy a 2 ohm stable 2 channel amp that puts out 125-150 watts RMS per channel, and 250-300 watts total or bridged RMS output. And connect them normally, on sub per channel... hope this helps, as far as brand recommendations, MTX, pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood... Good luck

Finding the best amplifier

Hello sharky75,

That 1600 watt peak power figure for your subwoofer can't tell you what amp you need. You need to know the maximum RMS power the sub can handle. And you need to know the impedance (ohms) of the voice coil(s). JBL GT5 series subs have an RMS rating of 275 watts. The GTO series handles 300 watts. The Power series handles 400 watts. The GTi series handles 700 watts. Some are single voice coil, so the impedance is fixed. Others are dual voice coil allowing you to wire them for different impedance loads.

For maximum performance your amp should be able to provide at or near the same number of watts RMS into the lowest impedance at which the sub can be configured. For example, if your sub is the Power Series Model number P1224, it has dual 4ohm voice coils and can be wired to present either a 2ohm load (parallel) or an 8ohm load (series). You want to wire the voice coils in parallel for the 2ohm load and select an amp that outputs up to 400 watts RMS into 2ohms. The Orion Cobalt CO8001 is just such an amp. If you have one of the GTi Series subs, a better amp would be the JVC Arsenal KS-AR75 which outputs 700 watts into 2ohms.

Hope this helps.

Is amp big enough for speakers

Hello,

To run 2 subs, the amp would be a little small. The subs will run OK, they just won't be very loud.

It's usually better to compare and match up the RMS power rather than the peak power. The Sony XS-L10P5B sub has a peak power handling figure of 1200 watts, but the RMS is 300 watts. The Sony XM-ZZR3301 monoblock amp puts out 1100 watts peak, but only 330 watts RMS. They would work great together, 1 sub, 1 amp. But if you add another sub, each one would only be getting about 165 watts. They'd work OK, just not as loud as they could be.

Hope this helps!

Rockford Punch HE2 wiring question.

if your sub will handle it, bridging it will give you more power. The best thing to do is to find out how much power the amp puts out ( RMS ) and if it is in your power handling range bridge it. It sounds better and gives you a harder punch because of more power.
