Burnt out EY34

EY34 is a location near a small blue capacitor that commonly burns up; Location number for the cap should be C514 and the values of it are 1,000 pf (pico farad) at 2 KV (2,000 volt rated).

Often if it is burnt it is the only problem and both Hitachi and Sony used the same identical part in several of their sets.

Let me know if you have questions.

Blue converence was intermitten now out on sides

If the IC's say have STK printed on them, then they are the convergence IC' s. should be three of them, replace all 3 , and the burned green coils, sometimes these burn as they supply the volts to the STK's. good luck, be safe..

TV couldn't turn on. No picture

Hello,
I repaired a KP53SH30 with 6-blinks error.
Sony says the error indicated loss of or short on the 5V regulator. The 5V regulator was bad, so I looked at the 6-volt regulator (it supplies 6-volts to the 5-volt regulator input.
I found a bad capacitor on the "G" board. The top was bulged. It was in the 6-volt power supply. I replaced the 6-volt regulator, the two caps on the input, two caps on the output. I also replaced the comparator chip. I don't know what part was bad, but these parts did the trick. I bought all of the parts at Mouser for about $10.00.
If you are a techno, I can send you the service manual if you need it.
I just noticed your code is 4-blinks.
Sony says it indicates +/-15 volt not supplied, and IC8003 is faulty. Hope this helps,
Dan

Sony KP61V80

This may be an easy problem to fix. If you heard a pop sound, it's possibly a burnt cap on the powersupply. Check caps C521, C522, C517 or any burnt caps on the RA-3 chassis. Obviously be careful when checking.
