Re: Still Pictures

The still pictures are actually single frame MPEG movies with 7 seconds of audio. You should capture them the same way you get movies off the tape into the PC and just capture the frame.

I lost my pics on file on the camera after i hit "format" "yes" help!

If the pictures were on a memory card and you haven't done anything to the card since formatting it, you should be able to recover at least some of the pictures. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program suitable for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader attached to your computer and run the program.

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Help!! all my pictures are gone. I went into playback mode to look at my pics that I just took and I get a message no file. I caught my three year old playing with camera I don't know what he did...

I would guess that these photos have been deleted, but more often than not, these can be recovered using photo recovery software. I believe you need professional-level software to help with this, but I will leave it to you to decide.
I have such software, and plenty of experience recovering files, etc., and I would be happy to help you with this project. If you want to reach me visit my site, which has my contact name/phone/email info on it.

Dxg-506v digital camera/viedo recorder

You can download the software on this link (maybe you tried this already)

or you can search directly on DXG wep page in the support link.

I don´t know if this works for vista, but for XP is OK. Just tried.

Dvd to prints

You can either
1. Transfer the still pictures from the camcorder to the PC, and then, either
1.1 use your PC software to print the pictures, or
1.2 use an online photo processing lab to print the pictures for you.
2. Take the disc from the camcorder to a local photo printing shop and ask them to print the pictures you want printed.

But first ...
before you can transfer pictures or video from your Canon DC210 to your PC you need to finalise the disc in the camcorder.

You also need to make sure that the DVD drive on your PC is capable of reading a DVD-R, DVD-R DL or DVD-RW format as these are the only disk formats that the DC210 will handle. Not all PC DVD drives can read these formats.

To finalise the disk you must have the power adapter connected to the camera, plugged into a wall socket and turned on. Then, switch on the camera, put it into playback mode, Press 'Func.', select main menu, select 'disk operations', select 'finalise'. Don't move or shake the camera or switch it off whilst the finalising step is underway - this could cause problems.

Once finalising is complete, take it out of the camcorder and then follow steps 1.1, 1.2 or 2 above.

Good Luck.

Record/viewing pictures already taken

I would like to thank the team at for responding to my problem with the quickness I might add. I didn't ask the experts however because I was, after several hours, able to download the manual online. Thanks for your assistance and speedy response.

To view still photos taken from canon dc-210 dvd camcorder

Sounds like you're using the "cine" setting.

Switch the camera on.
Move the "cine / photo" switch (it's just above the joystick) to the "photo" position (i.e. to the right).
Use the joystick to move between images.

Good Luck

I have heard that that they are great for recording video but if you want great pic's you should use your digital camera. before buying mine they told me that it wouldn't take great still pic's because of the megapixels or something.

Can't find time and dates for photos

What kind of camera are you using ? Most of the times, digital cameras record the date and time pictures are taken.

Blurry still pictures

I had the same problem and found this forum.  In Camera mode, I went to the night/program light button and somehow entered a circular menu shown on the screen ... chose sports shots - and boom!  back on to focused pictures.  Hallelujah.
