Check the coils on the main board. Coils mean round ferrite donuts (1 inch or less) with copper wires on it. I have seen this come out.
if not check convergence amp ic's

Aside from the customer controls you might be able to turn the screen controls up a bit to get more brightness, they are on a black block inside the set.

My JVC AV-48WP55 only blinks the green led when plugged in. This happened after a power surge, during a thunder storm.

Have you tried unplugging the tv and letting it sit for a while then plugging it back in?

also.. sometimes i have seen appliances that will flash the power light if an internal fuse has blown to indicate a problem. open it up if you feel you want to and check for a fuse around where the power cord comes in teh tv.

Jvc av-56wp74 power up failure

Hello hwkdoc,

What has happened is that your shutdown circuit relay has tripped and it looks like it also may have malfunctioned. This however is not the cause of your problem but a symptom. The cause of your problem is an over-current condition caused by one of the systems in your TV, I would suspect the high voltage power supply or the switching low voltage power supply. These are the first places to look, if they are not the problem then check the convergence correction amplifiers. Right now the shutdown circuit is keeping the TV from coming on. If you do not have a background in electronics I would advise you to have a qualified TV technician analyze and repair your TV.

Thank you,

When power turns off then screen turns green

Yes look for a loose connection in the powersupply, this mean holding up the circuit board and looking underneath. Be careful and unplug power from set. If you are not comfortable then have a tech do it. Maybe a bad cap in the powersupply also.
