Question about Dryers

Open Question

Roper Model #RES7745RQ0 Electric Dryer Wont turn on.

I have a Roper Model number RES7745RQ0, It ran fine this morning and now it wont turn on. I have by-passed the thermal switch by directly connecting the blue wires to each other and hitting the start button, it clicks but nothing else. Could it be the ''push to start'' switch? The dryer is only 3 years old.

SOURCE: Roper Electric Dryer Heats but drum won't spin

Yank the filter out the top. Remove the 2 screws in the filter housing. Use a putty knife to pop the top and then remove the screws holding the front on. NOTE: raise up on the front panel slightly so you won't damage the bottom clips. Get the front out yer way and remove the drum. Clean out the dryer and oil the rollers and idler. Use this handy ROUTING GUIDE to see how to put the belt back.

SOURCE: Drum will not turn

If the motor is not running and the heater glows red you have a defective start switch on the motor.

I have a Roper dryer and it just turns off we can

first thing to do is to find out whats wrong with the cord, get to the part of the cord that goes into the machine, wires are loose. a 220volt dryer will not heat if one of the wires are loose. you need to get into machine and make sure wires are tight. this is also a safety hazzard, do not leave machine plugged in until problem is solved

Dryer will not turn on.

Robert, this sounds like your motor is out. Depending on the age of the dryer, you might want to look into anew model or replace your motor. While you're in there, clean out all the lint real good! Hope this helps you!

On the back side of the dryer sits the heater and various safety clixons. Any of them that would be OPEN ( no continuity) would be the problem. Here are some repair pictures

This is most likely an element problem. it is best that a tech replace it but if you feel comfortable take it out and to your local repair shop. match it up and reinstall it.
