Question about Washing Machines
Hello i have a kenmore front loading washer machine it is 4 years old. when it is in spin cycle it sound like it going to take off.. It gets louder and louder can this be fixed..
Most likely this will be the drum bearings.
Bearings normally last quite a long time but some will fail sooner than others. Quite often bearing failure is due to a faulty drum shaft seal which allows a small amount of water through and in to the bearings. The bearings then start to rust, which then accelerates the wear on the bearings.
Replacing the bearings needs well above average DIY skills to do, so unless you feel confident to tackle the job, can get hold of a tech manual, and can get hold of new bearings, it's time to call an engineer for a quote and then draw your own conclusions as to whether it's worth it.
