If you just changed the air filter. you may need to change the fuel filter as well

R100 reddy heater, low pressure forced air heater. the heater ignites, motor runs for 30 seconds then shuts down. photo cell good, filters clean, no ignition board, pump pressure unknown.

The R100 is a kerosene heater and the RLP100 is a propane heater so I am not sure when one you have.
If it is kerosene then you may need to check the pump pressure. Also the Safety swith can give you a cut out after 30 seconds.

If the unit is Propane then you could have a bad control board or a flame sensor.

You can call our service department at 1-800-475-5660

My reddy heater 115 pro starts, but shuts off after about 5 seconds of running , i replaced the filters and nozzle about 2 years ago

Here is a service manual:

If the flames actually starts but the unit shuts off after 5 seconds you need to check the pump cover on your heater to make sure you have no cracks in the rear cover.
This could be from low pump pressure but most often this problem is caused from a defective control board.

Reddy heater 165,000 runs for approx 15 to 20 min. I unplug wait 5 min. it restarts again and runs for another 15 to 20 min. and so on ....and so on purchased approx 1 year ago

There is a sensor in the tube that is a safety feture. it is a snap disc it maybe faulty, it is reading that the tube is to hot and shutting down, it cools and works again, check snap disc and also they need pleanty of fresh air.

1 Answer

Wont stay running

Reddy suggests: 1. Propane supply may be inadequate 2. High surrounding air temperature causing thermal limit device to shut down heater 3. Restricted air flow 4. Damaged fan 5. Excessive dust or debris in surrounding area solutions are: 1. A) Refill tank B) Provide additional and/or larger tanks. 2. This can happen when running heater in temperatures above 85° F (29° C). Run heater in cooler temperatures 3. Check heater inlet and outlet. Remove any obstructions 4. Replace fan. 5. Clean heater. could not get manual for your exact model but if you want manual for RLP 125 then; appears to be the same beast. Hope helps :)
