MD481 does not ring when incoming calls come thru... (by 3 users)

Hello ,
Please do help, I have a Motorola MD 481 digital cordless phone at work with a built in answering maching. It does not ring when calls come thru. Answer machine does not pick up also. I can make calls out.dial tone is there. but if someone calls, i do not know. is there a way to fix this>? I checked the settings, everything is turned on. but still does not work. someone please help me fix this. I like this phone very much.

MD481 does not ring when incoming calls come thru. I see the phone knows a call is there as the caller ID shows the number.
I hooked up an desk phone just to hear the ring and I answer the MD481 as normal. I think the electronics are partially blown.

Motorola MD481. Answer machine will not pickup after the ring count is reached. I have a user manual,but no troubleshooting section is in it. I have triple checked all settings and moved the base to other outlets and phone jacks. Recorded message plays,but,if a call comes in, answer machne does not pickup.

Any ideas? Thanks

There are two buttons on your phone charger one is page and the other one is do not disturb (it is the far right.
