Question about Toshiba Satellite L305-S5877 Notebook

2 Answers

My Toshiba Satellite L305-S5877 will sometimes go into a "sleep" type mode randomly and the screen goes almost completely blank. I can just see what is on the screen very faintly. I checked and re-checked, changed settings and they seem good. Any suggestions?

Hi,
Go to "POWER OPTIONS" in the control panel.
You will see 4 options under "Power Schemes"
1. Turn Off Monitor.
2. Turn Off Hard Disks
3. System Stand By
4. Hibernate

Make sure that you select the option "Never", for all of them.... Hope that should work

You have to disable the hibernation mode. Sounds like this is the problem. Go to Start - Control Panel - Performance and Maintenance - Power Options - click on Hibernate tab and uncheck where it says Enable Hibernation. This should fix the problem. Cheers

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do I turn the webcam on, in my toshiba computer:satellite L305-S5937

Most Toshiba's use a utility program for the webcam.

I would recommend installing the latest version for your model here.

Let me know if that works, it should ;)

I don't know what cable to get to connect my Toshiba satellite L305 to my TV.

Some use USB to connect pc to tv. Others use a ps/2 type with the pins in it to connect. Once they are connected, go to your main window screen, right click, go to properties, go to display. You will see a box #1 and a box #2. You will need to click and drag box #2 to the left side of box #1 and then click apply, then ok. Now you should see your screen on your tv

Can the Toshiba Satellite L305-S5947 LCD screen be replaced????

Yes, it can be replaced but will most likely cost more than the computer is worth at todays prices. If it where me I would remove the screen and buy an LCD Flat screen and use the computer as a desk top if I really needed to keep it. Or remove the hard drive and put it in a mobile case and use as a back up drive and buy a new laptop.
