Question about Dryers
Hi, This could be a timer issue. Does the timer not advance on any cycle, or just the "automatic" cycle. If it won't advance on either the "timed", "air fluff", nor the "auto" cycle, it is the timer. If it does advance on the other cycles and just not the auto, it is very likey a venting problem, i.e. kink in vent, obstruction in blower housing. However I doubt the later based on the claim the close ARE drying. Hope this helps, let me know and leave feedback, that way I know if you got looked after. good luck

You will need to replace the timer dial on the dryer.

Jeff, almost sounds like a timer issue, but I was fooled on this once. Under the consol is a inline resistor from the main plug. If this resistor is bad, dryer keeps running in timed dry. Part number for the resistor is 3401076. Look it up on the web so you know what it looks like. Just splices in.. Catriver..post back.

Will the dryer move forward in timed dry? if it does not then you need a new timer. If if will advance in timed dry but does not advance in auto mode then the high limit needs to be replaced on the heater.

if your clothes are damp because you say it does dry some what then it sounds like it could be the gas coils, the coils will work for awhile but then they fail and the timer will not move if there is no heat on the more or less
