Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
Most likely broken suspension bands allowing the drum to move freely within the housing.
Use a putty knife or something similar and on the front of the machine you will see a slight gap between the top of the machine and the face of the machine. If you look into the gap you may be able to see two clips there that hold the fron of the machine in place.
Use the putty knife to disengage these clips. it may take a few tries. once its loose swing the face out and off.
Looking into the housing, you will see the drum. near the top, in front yo u will see two black rubber straps, which will most likely be broken.
there are two more in the back in a similar position.
remove the screws that hold the ends of them in place you will need a 5-16 in nut driver.
make sure you unplug the machine there is some nasty voltage in there.
You need to replace these straps.
If you take them to a reputable appliance parts dealer they will be able to sell you a replacement for about 3-4$ a piece.
Reinstall the same way you took them out.
Without seeing the inside of the machine I cant offer any other suggestions. This is the most common issue with this machine.
