Question about Intel D845GBV (BOXD845GBVL) Motherboard

I have an Intel D845GBV Motherboard that suddenly stopped working

Hi, I have an Intel D845GBV that has been working fine for over 2 years now. Today, it simply will not start. I can power it on but I see nothing on the monitor and both the power light and the HDD light are on. I checked and replaced the memory, but that seemed to make no difference. I did the same with the video card, but that made no difference either. I tested the power supply and the hard drive on another computer and they are both fine. I finally decided to reflash my bios, I did, and my computer started and booted for a brief minute. After the process of flashing my bios was over, I restarted my computer, and it would not start again. I'm pretty sure the problem is from the motherboard since I've tested all the components on other computers and they work fine.I can't seem to find assistance on this motherboard anywhere since it is almost obsolete. Please help :(

Leave the connection to graphics card in, and take the left side panel off the pc and on the motherboard, you will see either a terminal marked CLRCMOS,JBAT1, CLRRTC, RTC, this is the cmos clearing jumper to revert back to default and the need to reset the time and date. If it's JBAT1 3 pin terminal, the cap will need to be taken off pins 1-2 and put across pins 2-3 then back to pins 1-2. If it is one of the others and only a 2 pin terminal, use a jumper cap like the one on the back of your hard disk and cdrom drive and put it over the 2 pins. start up pc and you should get the screen a beep and it will say press f2 for cmos setup, correct the date and time and the bios should be reset to vga, so change to pci again.

SOURCE: Intel Desktop D845PEBT2 could not boot up

Hi,

i,d suggest that the power cut may have been a surge or spike.

This May have blown your power pack, and caused possible motherboard Damage.

** Did you use the same lead for the PSU** and have you checked the (main fuse in the Plug ? )
If the monitor light remains orange, this is a possible graphics card fault, or driver that is not allowing the monitor to come out of standby mode. You could try installing a different graphics card, or swapping the monitor cable to the on-board graphics card if it has 1.
If none of the above works, assume the motherboard has suffered damage.

Suitable VGA for my Intel mother board D845GBV

U need to update ur VGA chipset driver as well as ur graphics deriver from http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=889
install & reboot. If still having problem then go to
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Filter_Results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=889&OSFullname=OS+Independent&lang=eng&strOSs=38
update ur BIOS version, but note this----BIOS upgradation is very risky task, because during update process power failure will result the abortion of ur motherboard. So do it with experts if u are a rookie.
