Question about Bose Lifestyle SA-2 2-Channel Amplifier
To whom it may concern, I have an issue with a Lifestyle SA-3 amp that is powering a non bose sub. I blow the amp at about 1/2 volume. I am really not pushing the amp that hard. My Bose guy doesn't have any ideas why this keeps happening. I am on my 4th amp.. HELP...
How many ohms is your sub? The SA 3 Amp can only handle speaker(s) 6 ohms and greater. A lot of subs, as I understand, are 2 and 4 ohms typically. If yours is 2 or 4 ohms, then that explains it. The speaker would be "straining" your amplifier and blowing it.

Would rather keep the Maestro speakers and change out the Bose amps for some amp with a 4ohm capacity
